Alright Im looking for an app that is small, (maybe even free) and all it does is add links to the main launcher while still keeping the app on card.
I know there are a couple and can remember one being posted recently but for the life of me dont get anything goo when I search!

If you want free, I was a FEEEND for LinkStartLite back when I had my 650 PicLink seems to have a problem (at least for me) of not moving the app back to the card when finished.

PicLink doesn't move the app at all, it just makes a shortcut to launch.

Nah - I mean when you actually use one of its links to launch an app - it stays in RAM.

Well......
linkstart crashes the treo every 3rd time or so and piclinink doesn't carry over resource db's.
Any others?
You see I purchased a pool game and its rather large with the resource dbs's. (1700+) I want to keep it on the card but when I put it in my Treolauncher subfolders in the launcher folder it doesn't carry over its resources.
I can put it just in Launcher but then I loose my category and it only shows up in the all category, and putting the resources in the launcher folder and the primary app in my subfolder doent work either.
I just don't want to have this game on internal memory but still be in the games category.
so far no luck. :-(

ZLink is recommended by most peepul. Indeed, LinkStart wasn't the most stable app, but I learned to value FREE over stability... which is prally why my Treo can be so unstable at times .

Teal Alias will do what you need it to do. It's shareware, not free, but it will load your desired resources when you need them, save them back to card when you're finished, and remove them from RAM to free it up until the next time that you need them. It's completely stable. I've been using it for at least the last two years.

OK tried all of these so far and here are the results
linkstart = random crashes
piclink = doesnt carry resource db's over
zlink= left resources in ram (could have been a setting I had wrong though) crashed once
tealalias= nag screen everytime app is launched keeps you from really seing how fast it is. no crashes
I have yet to try powerrun 0r something like that. All these were on a 700p with about 36-40mb of free memory left
Thanks to all that replied it is appreciated.

Dag - wit that much free why not just keep them in RAM then? I mainly (or only) had need for this type of app back on my 650 when there was so little RAM, but now with the 700, I have things in RAM that really don't even need to be there, and still have 15-17MB Free on average. I mean like I said, when I had brought this up before, most ereybody responded suggestin how much better ZLink was than n e thing else including Teal, PowerRun, and especially LinkStart. One thing I (think I) remember about ZLink is that for apps with abnormal resources, you can tell ZLink to move them back to the Card on exit, so that could be the setting for which you're looking.

Yeah but Im still adding to RAM as of now. Still working on getting all the info back onto my SDcard so I decided to zero out and install onto the Treo while I'm at it. There all pdb files for games and total take up like 4mb! I think thats alot for games. lol On a side note in the knowledgebase its not listed that the zero out for the 700p is not the same as for the 650. You need to set a password in the security app and enable device lock on power off. After its powered off that it locks, when hard rest instead of the normal Palm logo/Acess logo screens you get a reformatting screen in 5 different languages before you see the other reboot screens. Just thought i'd share that bit of info.

Hey old_hatch ZLink is about the best shortcut creator/app mover avalable. It has many options available to teH user. For Example, a buffer, create shortcuts to DA's, panel apps, contact links etc. When creating a shortcut for a RAM app, you have two options, move app only and move app and database. Make sure the move app and database is selected to move the app and it's files to the card. I use ZLink on a 700p and a Centro and have zero problems with it. Chuck

Just a little update on this.
I tried using some of these apps again and ran into some problems.
Tealalias and a couple of others did not agree with Treolauncher and would quit and not load up applications and quit halfway through. I have no idea why and didnt waste too much time trying to figure it out.
Now I am trialing out zlink and must say it is by far the best out of all these applications. Thanks to all that helped.
