So last night I went to a restaurant and we were seated at a table in a lower level, pretty much below ground. Today I noticed that the battery on my Treo was down to 31%. So I looked at BatteryGraph and saw a drastic drop in battery level yesterday evening. Then I looked in the PowerHero log, which I have set to log drain rate every 5 minutes. (I didn't have the Signal Saver turned on, but I do now):
4/13/08 22:11:51, 39.13%, 635.2mAH, 3.77v, Drain 6mA 4/13/08 22:06:51, 39.16%, 635.7mAH, 3.77v, Drain 6mA 4/13/08 22:01:51, 39.19%, 636.2mAH, 3.76v, Drain 8mA 4/13/08 21:55:02, 39.25%, 637.2mAH, 3.76v, Drain 12mA 4/13/08 21:50:02, 39.32%, 638.2mAH, 3.76v, Drain 164mA 4/13/08 20:37:05, 51.90%, 837.7mAH, 3.78v, Drain 35mA 4/13/08 20:25:43, 52.33%, 844.5mAH, 3.77v, Drain 169mA 4/13/08 19:35:01, 61.38%, 988.0mAH, 3.86v, Drain 21mA 4/13/08 19:30:01, 61.49%, 989.7mAH, 3.86v, Drain 12mA 4/13/08 19:25:01, 61.56%, 990.7mAH, 3.86v, Drain 6mA
19:30 was when we went into the restaurant, we left just before 22:00. So I conclude the big power drain is while we were sitting in (essentially) the basement and the phone was searching for a signal.
But note that during that time, PowerHero only sporadically logged entries - instead of every 5 minutes, there's a gap of 50 minutes, then 12 minutes, then an hour and 13 minutes. Then when the signal is restored and the power drain drops, logging resumes every 5 minutes.
Curious?
