I know that this question might sound stupid but ill ask anyway.I just downloaded the windows vista skin, hotsynced it to my phone, but i dont see anything in my phone... can somebody help me please??

No question is stupid. Skins are a little bit difficult to figure out if you're not familiar with them.

After you install the skin, you need to open SkinUI (install it if you don't already). Tap on the Skins button, select the Vista skin, then press Select. That's it!

Just posted a new version wth wider, Vista-styled sliders. If you're using the Vista Cobalt skin, that one hadn't been changed.

Remember, if you want to turn off the blue-ish purple selector in the launcher and make it controlled by the current theme, turn off Colors in Effects.

could some please post or tell me what version of skinUI can i use for my Palm Centro and where i can find it. i was told the newer version will not work on my phone properly. thanks.

Try 2.3.0.0 first. If it crashes when you make a call, uninstall it and install 2.2.0.1.

sorry to ask a dumb question but im new to the treo and i downloaded the skin threw my phone and i have no clue on where it saved the skin can anyone please help me out

You need to have SkinUI installed to be able to use the skin. It will go into the handheld memory, and it can be accessed if you have SkinUI or a file management app like FileZ installed (check our downloads section for it).

I'm new to the skinning application so I don't know if I am missing something but i downloaded the SkinUI.prc file and synced it to my centro but I don't know how to apply it. I'm not finding anything under the applications.

Sorry for the silly question, but any help appreciated.

Sorry, I just found that after I had written my reply. Is there a theme that changes the background to a dark color instead of white with colored theme buttons by chance ? I downloaded, cobalt, vista and Tiger I believe it was called.

when i use skinui on my centro the buttons on the bitmaps dont say anything and when i recieve a call if i answer a call it crashes my phone

Sounds like the SkinUI known bug...you'll need to disable "Big Buttons" in Effects.
