iPhoney Internet

This should be a blog, but I'm posting it anyway.  Thoughts?

I'm officially putting it in a post.  The iPhone internet is just iPhoney.  I use Opera Mini 4 on my Treo 680 and it destroys the iPhoney internet.

A friend of mine has an iPhone and on a couple of occasions we have put our phones side by side to do a comparison.  There simply isn't one.  My Opera equipped 680 loads pages tons faster than his iPhoney.
 
I am disturbed (read mad as hell) that every post I read hails the iPhoney as the greatest internet phone ever.  Unless you stand next to wi-fi your whole day (which I don't), it's basically a brick. 

Jobs is to Jones as the iPhone is to Kool-Aid.

I think the main think (not a typo) bout the iFony internet is the whole culture of the day, since the iFony is more a mainstream multimedia device, and those in the mainstream are so obsessed with media and therefore with the way the internet has "advanced", so dependent on Flash & scripting while surfing, which Palm browsers of course just aren't that grate at.

But yeah - I mean have you seen that "comparison" somebody put on yootoob with loading cnn on Blazer (4.5) vs on iFony, and how it loaded about 30secs faster or something. I really wanted to see somebody "respond" with a comparison of using OperaMini or even Xiino or WebPro, which prally would be even half that.

I haven't watched that YouTube comparison, but I most cetainly am going to.  I can load www.espn.com literally a minute faster than my friends iPhoney.  Of course I can also copy-n-paste, send/recieve picture messages, and type more than 5 wpm as well, but thats another story.  And my screen doesn't turn into a smudgy mess with 3 seconds of me using my phone.

Please don't drink the Kool-Aid kids.
