Hey guys, 16 GB have come out for a few brands already,

have anyone tried them yet?

The price is good too, around $100 ~ $150 depending where you buy.

The same price i paid for my 8 GB a year ago or 2 ago Cheesy

Current brands i've found are:
- Trascend
- A-data
- 2 other lesser known "generic" names

by experience both Trascend and A-data a reliable, or should i wait for more brand names to release more before buying?

Transcend is a very good brand.  I have never had a problem with either my 4GB or 8GB cards.

Hi,
I am using a 16gb SDHC Class 6 Transcend card bought from www.memory-configurator.co.uk/ for £ 56.26 on my treo 680 successfully for the past week now. Was using a 8 gb SDHC Class 6 Transcend card before that Smiley.
Regards, Tripti.

Several companies previewed them at CES, IIRC they are due to release them Q2-3 this year

Hi,
The test was completed in 2.32 seconds on a 16gb sdhc card using Card Speed Testing.
The readings 1st time were:
Wrt32bit: 215 bytes/sec
Wrt8KB: 225986 bytes/sec
Read8KB: 2621440 bytes/sec

The readings the 2nd time were:
Wrt32bit: 194 bytes/sec
Wrt8KB: 301314 bytes/sec
Read8KB: 2912711 bytes/sec

Both times it said Card speed is excellent use any record setting.

Read8Kb: 3276800 bytes/sec

finished in 2.5 secs
Wrt32KB: 357 bytes/sec
Wrt8KB: 231985 bytes/sec
Read8KB: 3276800 bytes/sec

again for 8GB SDHC times where excellent, so doesn't appear to be a large difference in performance

Hi all,

Just got my A-DATA 16GB Class 6 card and it works great!

At first there was some resistance sliding it into the Treo and when it clicked down it didn't pop back up again, then the Treo prompted me if I wanted to format it; uh-oh!  A bit panicked, I had to use tweezers to pull it out (since it didn't stick out far enough for the usual push to eject) and then tried it on my PC.  It was stiff going into the reader as well but was recognized and I was able to copy some files onto it.  The second time back into the Treo it went a little easier and was recognized, with the DCIM and PALM directories getting created.  I then re-formatted it on the PC (command line "format f: /fs:fat32 /a:32K", your drive letter will vary) to get the 32k allocation size (it may have had that already but I figured I'd just play it safe), re-installed it in the Treo (went in fine and now clicks to eject okay, probably just had some flash on the edges of the molding initially) and renamed it to 16GB in CardInfo (my default naming convention is by size, since I only have one of each).  I've been using it spiff-happily ever since, and it's noticeably faster than my 8GB Class 4 coming up with the thumbnails in the Pics&Videos app.
