How can I stop tryDA from appearing on the top of the application list rather than being in its alphabetical place? I tried the app ChangeMe and changed the name to not have the preceding space and it still appears at the top. I have FileZ so is there a way to use that to change it using FileZ? It's bugging me to not have it listed alphabetically!

Use FileZ to rename the file. There is a space character in front of the 'd' if you remove it DA will go back to its rightful place.

Being a ZLauncher user, it is an easy change to accomplish via its front end applications launcher. Ben

Hey.....
Characters in the app name always show in your launcher first, followed by numbers and then alphabetical listing.
Use Filez, Resco Explorer, Initiate or ZLauncher to change the name or remove the character in TryDA.

I have FileZ but I don't know how I would go about changing an app name as suggested. Can anyone give me the exact steps to do so in FileZ? Thanks!

It appears that Filez, with it's limited nature, won't change the way TryDA is shown in your launcher. Filez works just fine for changing the way an app is listed within Filez. So, what you need to use is Resco Explorer or Initiate Launcher ( I use both of these) or a 3rd party launcher that has the ability to change app names, to remove the two spaces (characters) in front of TryDA app name, to have TryDA show in the 'T's' in your launcher. Filez is just fine as a free file manager application to do minor things. Resco Explorer is best as a shareware file manager to do anything you need (want) to do. I quit using filez a long time ago and had to install it to accurately answer your question. Chuck

I kept seeing people saying to use FileZ and I couldn't find how to change it. I appreciate your confirmation that it cannot be done. I did drop the developer a note about this issue.

Hey......
I did use Resco Explorer to remove the two spaces (characters) in front of tryda app name to place tryda under 'T' in my launcher.
Initiate launcher also worked for this modification of tryda app name.

Yep, as does ZLauncher - it's a third party launcher type of thing. Ben

Happy new year to you all.
For my first post I'd like to start by demonstrating my ignorance and asking does tryda only work for the US or can we in the UK make use of this program?
cheers

Tryda, not ready for prime-time. At least not on my treo. Reasons: 1 it has to access the latest googlemaps from the card, whats up with that. This causes it to eliminate googlemaps history. 2 It definitely feels like big brother is watching. 3 I can do all of these things without it, at no more real trouble than it is. Hope they can work this out. Shoot between Googlemaps and Takephone search ability, I not sure there is a need for this at all.

I downloaded x411 and seem to like it. I used to have DA and in the beginning experienced a some crashes but then was improved. Was happy till it stopped working again. I was checking out TRYDA when I read the Telepages EULA and was put off. Yea I know that it is free, but you get what you pay for. Big Brother is exactly the feeling that I got. So far X411 works good enough in the trial period. The only problem I seen so far is that the list contains some businesses that no longer exist. But if further testing shows that it can be useful and the developer seems responsive. I will gladly pay the $10 so that I don't get bothered by the Adds, Spam, Tracking Cookies information Harvesting, and privacy policy that Telepages can change when it feels like it.
