Try looking over pg 7 (currently) in this thread - Rob has posted much of the same info and screenshots.

Rob,

I love the tips course you are sending out.   I am a newbie, so it will take me awhile to figure it all out, but I can review my emails!  What a great idea!

Use bookmarks to create a link to an html file on your sd card.
I made a simple page with all of the google mobile links (411, search, mail, maps, calendar, docs, reader, notebook, picasa, youtube) and saved it in the Documents folder.
Then in the Bookmark memo, I added:

Google
file:///Documents/Google.html

that is a great tip - thank you.
a slight twist on this would be to save your bookmark list from your browser as an html file so you can use it this way. Instructions to do that for IE7 are here:

In Internet Explorer, click the Add to Favorites button , and then click Import and Export.
In the Import/Export Wizard, click Next.
Under Choose an action to perform, select Export Favorites. Click Next.
Then select which folder you want to export. Clicking Favorites will export all your bookmarks.
Click on Browse to choose where you want to save your bookmarks, which will be in a file named bookmark.htm (you can also name it something else if you want). Click Next.
Click Finish. Click OK.

I'm sure you can do much the same with firefox/opera

Searching turned up nothing - need to know how to make my app icons larger?  Sometimes my reading glasses just aren't handy, and these over-40 eyes just can't cut it any longer.

Thanks much from this blind ol' bat.  ^^..^^

Hi Lizzy....Kiss

Welp...

Go into I8 prefs to Layout (skins) and untick Double Resolution for whatever view you use.

There is a Double Resolution option for List Mode and Icon Mode. Unticking this will make the Icons bigger in Icon Mode. However, icons in list mode won't get to much bigger because the list mode uses the minature app icons. Each app has 2 icon sizes, large and very small.

I use Icon Mode for 'Applications' view and List Mode for all the other views.

OK, here is one.

The 'Company' field of your contact program can be used for any label to sort by. As an example, I have entered 'family' in 'company' for all family members. Now, when I enter 'fam', I get a listing of all entries with 'family' in the 'company' field. Limited only by your imagination!   Smiley

May not be super useful to everyone, but I am finding that a very powerful feature to have.

This is great!  And I find it useful that with this method you can make pseudo hierarchies.  That is, if you want different branches of the family you can do this:

Company: Family Mom
Company: Family Dad

Also, I recommend using a . as a split so that you won't match on the characters after the first part of the "company" So I do:

Company: Family.Mom and search for F.m and I'm golden!

OK, here is a question, as I am putting Initiate through the paces - If I start typing (smart search) and stop, get interupted, etc., don't finish the search...is there anyway to clear the letters without hitting the back key?  You know like a calculator "c" key?  Just curious, this happens more than you might think to us old folks?

I have done this a few times and when I come back to my device the search I started an hour ago is still there...
