Best deal on Cingular data plan

Wife just started contract with Cingular (450 rollover minutes) and also got data package so we can check email/internet anytime (I think it is about $30-40 on top of the phone plan) as well us update the good ol' SatNav when out and about.
We're not been on the contract for a month yet and I saw someone post something about a $20 data plan (http://mytreo.net/forum/index.php/topic,48663.0.html).
Should we cancel the data plan and go with the $20 one? I looked on Cingular's site and didn't see a MediaMax Unlimited bundle but rather saw MEdia Works + Unlimited M2M Messages. What is the difference between MediaMax and MEdia Works data plans.
Basically, we would like a data plan whereby we can connect whenever we want without limitations (obvious fair-use policy), send/receive emails, browse internet and connect to SatNav via GPRS and get data e.g. weather/traffic etc.
We're in Europe at the moment so will need to phone Cingular back in the USA to change plans or do it online (is it possible?) via our account.

MediaMax Unlimited bundle but rather saw MEdia Works + Unlimited M2M Messages. What is the difference between MediaMax and MEdia Works data plans.

Media works does NOT include unlimited data, MediaMax Bundle includes unlimited data but not text.

Definitely get rid of the expensive data plan unless you have a need to connect to a corporate server or VPN. 

I've used the MediaMax Bundle with 200 text message/month for over a year and can do anything with that I did with the Data Plan.

There are MediaMax Unlimited Bundles with a varying number of text messages to suit your purpose on the Cingular Website.

One of the reasons we have the more expensive plan is because we have 1000 texts and int'l texts come out of that. (We have a lot of friends in Europe).
So, would it still be worth it to go to the lower plan? (I'm a newbie to US tariffs having come from UK).

The cheapest PDA Data Plan is $44.95, you might want to double check your text messaging coverage.  Many of the plan from Cingular do not include texting but charge extra for each text message.
