At long last... drumroll please...

KeyguardTime version 5.1 is released!

Many, many thanks to my beta testers and translators for their help and patience over the past few months. It has been a lot of fun developing this, and I hope the wait has been worth it. Developing Palm software is something of a hobby for me, but this program is special in the way it has become useful to so many people. I think you'll really, really like the new features.

So, without further ado, here is the readme with credits and details...

KeyguardTime+ is a Treo 600/650 popup which, at the push of a key, graphically shows the current date and time, your current messages, upcoming appointments and tasks, and the status of your Treo. At a touch and a glance, you will know everything your Treo has to tell you!

KeyguardTime+ graphically displays any or all of the following information:

 o Date and Time
 o Upcoming appointments
 o Current tasks
 o Voicemail pending
 o Battery level and plug status
 o Phone on/off and signal level
 o Ringer/speaker mute status
 o SD card present
 o Infrared beaming enabled
 o Bluetooth enabled (if present)
 o RAM/Flash memory usage

The KeyguardTime+ display is an overlay for whatever screen is displayed on the Treo. So, you can see its display no matter what application is active. Also the Treo's keyguard does not cover the information when it appears.

KeyguardTime+ can also be configured to pop up when several of the Treo's hard keys are pressed. It can display until you touch the screen or a key, or until the key is released. In either case, when the popup is done, the Treo returns to the screen that was interrupted.

Once enabled, KeyguardTime+ runs in the background and pops up as you like it. It requires no further interaction.

You can selectively enable the digital clock, analog clock, date indicators, and appointments and tasks. The color of these display components can be changed to your liking.

Try setting the Digital Clock and "Day/month/year" to "<none>" for an easy-to-read graphical clock with Treo status! Or, try setting the Analog Clock to "<none>" and enable appointments and tasks for an agenda view text-oriented digital display. There are sample presets available under the "Sample presets" popup.

KeyguardTime+ is entirely freeware. Many thanks to Stefan Gebers for the German translation, Richard Moticska for Spanish, Frank Keung for both Chinese translations, and the many helpful (and patient) Beta testers. A special thanks to Palm Dev Software who wrote the original KeyguardTime for the Treo 600, which inspired this enhanced, redeveloped version. Got a soft reset immediately after installing (english version, with the option to delete the installer checked, chunk overlock error or something to that effect.) but all works fine after that.

Glad to hear it was a one-time glitch. I'll look into it, but it's most likely this was a problem in the old version, rather than the new one. When the installer runs, it first attempts to disable the old copy before replacing it with the new one. The bug may have been triggered when the old copy was removed. I would not expect it to come back, but if it does, PM me!

My data arrows stay green regardless. Even if there is no current data activity.  Nothing major, just thought you would want to know.  Love the addition of the calender events.  Thanks for a great product.

This is a great software. Thank a lot!

BTW, I have one suggestion. The top 5mm of the screen is always left blank. Why not utilize it? I've set the KGT+ to show up when in keyguard mode. The buttom of the screen will be blocked by the system message "press center to unlock" so that I can only see one line of appointment/task.
