the SlotDriver_SDIO-sdsd.prc also hotsyncs to a 700p and allows it to read the 8gb sdhc card also. Kudos to user MFB for finding that one.
Aiite I kno I'm late to the game, but my 8gb card should be arriving tomorrow, so quick question: is this saying that with the 700, there's no need to modify the ROM - just add that slotdriver to RAM and it's good to go?

Bought one 8GB SDHC (Class 2) yesterday for my 680. Card Info reports only 3574.8MB. Card Reader reports 3.5GB Card Export II reports 7686.0 MB On XP, card property reports 7.49GB: Copied a few ~1.5GB .avi via Card Reader and Card Export II to the card via USB, all played well in TCPMP.

The Treo just computes the capacity of the card wrong. You can keep adding files to your card up to the 8gb limit and your Treo should be able to recognize the files.

yup, i've got 6gbs of media on my card and its still kickin' strong. for those with a 700p, you may want to find a place online to host the slotdriver file so in the future if your ever hard reset, you can redownload the slotdriver for installation because you'll be unable to read your card until you reinstall it. i dont know of any areas to host it though. Aiite I kno I'm late to the game, but my 8gb card should be arriving tomorrow
we all know you were waiting for the price to drop so you could brag how you got the card for 1/2 of what i bought mine for

(But then of course, I did end up finding an offer on an 8gber that I just couldnt refuse - to think it was just $8 more than my first 256mber costed not 3 years ago...)

Stupid question - on a 700p, all that is required is to install the 3 files in the zip? (I know there's no ROM work required - just trying to figure out exact steps for a 700p)
Thanks! -dk

You don't need to install the file FAT32.prc on a 700p.

I've tried to install the slot driver on my 700p via hotsync and via copying the file direct from a (non-SDHC) SD card. Neither one works. Hotsync just gives me error messages. Any advice on how I can get this thing to work? Really appreciate it.

You can copy the files from your computer to a non-8gb card via a card reader. Then insert your card into your Treo and copy the files to your Treo. Perform a reset and then you're ready to insert your 8gb card.

Thanks--I appreciate the help. But I've tried that too, and for some reason it still doesn't work. I copied the file to my 700p's internal memory and reset it; no dice. I looked for the file in my internal memory (using FileZ), and strangely enough, I couldn't find it. But when I attempted to copy the file again from my non-SDHC card, it told me that file already existed in my internal memory. I'm sort of stumped. Many thanks.

The file resides in RAM as SlotDriver:SDIO-sdsd. I don't know why you can't read your 8gb card.
