Yup, that's the latest. It should offer to assign itself to your phone key when it first runs. Go to the options, General, and make sure you put a checkmark in the first box "Launch when I press the Phone Button." In that same screen, make sure you check to return to DBP after a call.

Yes, did all that.  It only doesn't return to DBP after dialing with a Butler favorite key, otherwise it works as advertised.

Butler's hot keys actually take you to the native dialer, so after the call you are returned to the native dialer.

That's a true statement, however you would think that when DBP installs and it asks you if you want to make it the default phone app, then it would and it would return to DBP (being the default app).  And I'm not sure about this, but I noticed after installing DBP I could not go into my sysprefs and change the default phone app.  The drop down wasn't there

There is no option in the system preferences. The o/s assumes that you will use the dialer that's built in. The default is only the default as long as it's launched from the button you assign. IOW, it's a fake default. It's just the way the o/s works. Sometimes you'll go back to the built in dial screen...just hit the phone button again to return to DBP.

If it returns to the phone screen after dialing a Butler favorite and I press the phone button again, I get a menu dropdown.  I have to go back to Home and then hit phone and it will open DBP.

Check your DBP settings so that on a phone press in the default it brings you back to DBP.

Once again...I did that.  It's a bug.  Cheesy  Butler doesn't recognize DBP as the default phone app.

Let me try to explain this again...DBP can be set so that when you press the phone button it defaults to DBP, but there can only be one phone app. It's in the OS and not an issue with either Butler or DBP. The same as when you exit Butler you go to the default launcher, even though Initiate is your default launcher. You'll just have to set DBP to come up from the default dialer on the 2nd button press. Or not use it.

Let me see if I can say this again.

1.  I press "h" to dial home, and it works from the DBP screen.
2.  It dials the number, I finish my call.
3.  It doesn't return to DBP, it returns to the default dialer.

If DBP is my "default" phone app, it should return to DBP, not the default dialer.

4.  Now that I'm in my dialer, if I press my phone button, it pulls my menu, and doesn't open DBP, regardless of the fact that I have "launch when I press the phone button" AND "launch when I press the phone button in the default phone app" AND "come back after phone call" checked.

Do you understand now?  When you install DBP, it asks you if you want it to be the "default" phone app, meaning you won't use the Palm app, you'll use DBP.

In my 15 years as a software and network engineer, I think I've learned what "default application" is supposed to mean.  I also understand a bug when I see it.  This is a bug.

Yes, I did that.  I was just trying to see if anyone else out there was having the same issue.

Everybody else is dialing from within DBP. When you dial from a favorite via Butler, you're starting from the native dialer...which automatically returns you to the native dialer.
