Habs, what was the battery life like? PowerHero takes its battery capacity from PalmOS, which guesses (incorrectly) the capacity of batteries other than the standard one. My 3,300 mAh battery is showing as something like 1,150 mAh...
It was indicating it as approximately 740 mAh. Even if PH didn't compute the battery capacity correctly, the Seidio ran out (e.g., the phone died) quicker than the standard battery after many charging cycles.

Gotcha. PalmOS doesn't cope with larger batteries very well but my 680 lasts a lot longer with the 3,300 mAh battery compared with the 1,200 mAh battery. I think you've been unlucky... twice!

The European update was released around a week after I bought my 680; during the early charges, battery life wasn't brilliant, but I'm supposing the battery was still being conditioned. I am, however, considering swapping out the 3,300 mAh battery for a combination of another USB sync and charge cable and either the standard or the 1,600 mAh battery. Not that I don't like my 3,300 mAh battery, not by a long stretch, more "just because" heh.

I just got an ulocked Treo 680 which was initially AT&T but is unlocked now. I want to install the camera update as the battery is really a poor performer (at least compared to my previous Treo 650) but don't know which one to install. The unlocked GSM version is described as not compatible if the phone software is Treo680-1.09-ATT. If I install the AT&T version of update, I am thinking it might block my phone. I bought it brand new in one of those liquidation electronic stores.
Any advise out there which version I should install?

I recently did the Product Update 2.11 from the palm website and my battery life improved ALOT. Same worked for me. I'm using a treo680 AT&T unlocked and I updated the firmware yesterday morning (got it from palm site), and right now i still have 61% battery life remaining, I'm enjoying the battery life now, no need to bring extra battery or charger all the time.. previously, i suffered from half day battery life, i use 2 batteries a day or so. but thanks to the update, its all fine now, but still, treo 650 battery rocks!!!

hello, same issue here, I have the same 680 AT&T as yours, i had it unlocked and am now using a different simcard from a different network. i was worried it might be re-locked the moment i install the new update, crossed fingers i still did it yesterday, right now its still unlocked. thank God! I'm still free to use other network sim cards for this. don't worry about it. And the update, really works!!! i'm now enjoying the battery life of my 680!!!

and you should install the AT&T update, the unlocked GSM update won't work.

My Solution is to use my 650 battery and a thicker back cover. It's a mind relief to know that it will last for 2 days (normal use) or 3 days (standby).

yeah it sucks... =( that's sad cuz i really love this treo but i plug the pda the whole night, in the morning i turn it the phone on, it spends almost 10% of the battery, it has to be something for it!!! i have already install the patch....
it coulkd be better if had some wi fi connetion because in my country ... if you want to get conected by edge or gprs just 5 minutes in the google maps you spend almos 10 dollars or if you want to open google spends almost 4.5 dollars...... it sound kinda stupid isnt??
