VersaMail Treo 650

I purchased a unit from a friend.  I'm trying to use versamail.  My desktop takes me through the procedure then tells me to open up the Versamail icon.  There isn't any icon on my treo.  What am I doing wrong???

Did your friend give you the original install disk? Verizon puts Versamail on the disk rather than the ROM like the other carriers.

I got a "rogue" disk.  He got his treo from his company then they upgraded to 700.  He got a copy of the disc from one of his co-workers when he needed something last year.  I opened the disc and all it offers is "set-up".  As I said, I go to programs, Palm One, set-up Versamail on my desktop and go through the procedure.  It then tells me to sync and go to the "versamail" icon on my palm.  None appear.

I ran into a similar issue a month ago when I paid Palm $10 to upgrade my VersaMail to the latest version (why are bug fixes not free?). I couldn't find VersaMail on my Treo after the upgrade! After about 10 minutes, I noticed that the app was renamed "Email"... I hate to say it, but that's sloppy of Palm. I don't mind that the name changed, heck it actually makes sense, but how about big bold letters, "VERSAMAIL" IS NOW CALLED "EMAIL"!
