I have a problem with my treo 600. It works as a palm but not as a phone. When I Put the wimcard in and I turn the wireless radio in, I get the this message "SIM registration failed. Please turn your radio off and on again or contact your service provider to activate your phone". I then go the the phone menu and choose options and select network and I can see the networks available in Sweden, and then when I try to connect to the one which belongs to my simcard I get the same message as above and when I click ok I get the mesage "Unable to register with selected network". The phone was working before and now just like that it stopped working......anyone with the same problem? Does anyone know how to solve it?
Thanks!

Maybe a corrupt sim card. You could try going to your carrier and getting a new one.

No, the phone is unlocked and the simcards work fine on other phones. No problems with them. But I begin to wonder if it is not because the simcards I was trying with are 3G and nor usual GSM...do you think that is the problem?

That could well be the trouble...the Treo cannot handle the 3G networks, you need an old GSM/GPRS-type SIM.

I got a similar problem, my phone is unlocked and used to work i even get signal, but lately started to search for gsm network and stayed there, the chip works fine, i've tried it with other phone and no problem there.
I also tried the the palm with 3 different chips, and nothing, any ideas, thanks.

do you have the latest firmware on your treo? and it might help to know what mobile service you are trying to use it on
If at&t are you using it as gophone or as contract service? There have been some changes at AT&T I really wonder though if that would cause this kind of problem. They are forcing activation of data package on the post paid services.
One of the other experts will have a better idea.

I have a unlocked treo600, and tried several different simcards with no luck. My firmware is 3.05, and tried to unlock but it is refusing to get service... How can I change the IMEI with tokenw?
