Hi Jeff,
I'm using a newly DL'd and registered version (2.16) of CradleCare. The automatic sync feature alone is worth the price.
However, I am getting resets which I believe may be attributable to CradleCare. For one thing, if the card is ejected and I hit 5-way RIGHT to cancel the alarm, I get a reset. That seems to be a known bug.
Secondly, after an automatic hotsync sometimes the Treo just resets. I attribute that to CC because I didn't have the problem before loading/using it.
I am running AfterSync (someone else mentioned doing this) to take me back to DateBk6 after the sync.
My settings are: Autosync enable, scheduled every 15 mins, all other sync settings not ticked. No forwarding. Screen stay-on when plugged in, scheduled hours, ringer on. Card Eject warning enabled.
My Treo 650 is GSM unlocked, Firmware 1.71, Software Treo650-1.20-ENA (the latest).
Thanks

I am travling internationally this week and have limited access to my test lab. I will research your issues and see if I can find any issues. I do believe the 5-way is a problem and I will address that without question. The reset after sync is an interesting issue. I have not seen this condition before. May be hit or miss to debug this one to verify it is a CC problem. Jeff

I have not seen any discussion re: whether Cradle Care now supports the Treo 700p. Has it been tested, and if wo what Rev is stable?

Jeff,
I have a registered version of CradleCare 2.18 on my unlocked Treo 680. It has been working very well, except that I just for the first time started using the AutoSync function (I never used it on my 650, either). I have it enabled and have checked "AuoSync on Cradle Insert" and there are two issues. First, it seems to require me to set an AutoSync schedule, when I really only want it to AutoSync when I first put it into the cradle. Second, when I put the 680 in the cradle, I get the popup box warning that AutoSync is about to begin (with a 10-second countdown), but when I either hit "Okay" or let the time run out, nothing happens! It does not start the hotsync process.
Also, I have Manual Forwarding enabled -- is there a way to disable the alarm sound when the phone forwards or unforwards itself?
Finally, Since this is the first time I've written you about issues, I thought I'd also mention that I often have to "remind" CradleCare that I want the screen to stay on between certain hours (this happened with my 650, as well). What I'm really saying here is that sometimes, when the phone is in the cradle, the screen shuts off, even though I have CradleCare set to keep it on at that time. If I go into CradleCare, hit the "Scrn" button, then the "Main" button and then exit the program, it seems to work fine after that.
Thanks for all of your great work and your great products (I love VolumeCare and ScreenCare, also -- although I don't think you've upgraded ScreenCare to work on the 680 yet -- would love a notification when that upgrade happens!).

Thanks for the nice words and comments! Lets start by getting yoiu up to the current version of CradleCare which is 2.21. It is available here at MTDN at this URL: http://mytreo.net/downloads/details-315.htmlDo you have power applied to your cradle? Power is needed as this is the trigger condition for all CradleCare functions (except for SD card removal). So for example, your screen will continue to shut off if your Treo is in the cradle but the cradle does not have a charing cord plugged into it. Please follow up with this and your other issues at the GoTreo support email address: support AT GoTreoSoftware.com Jeff

And yes, I definitely have the power charger cable plugged into the cradle, so I'm sure that's not the issue. By the way, I also love LauncherX, which I know you're involved with now.

The AutoSync function when I put my 680 in the cradle is working now, with version 2.21. Thanks!

Hello,
FYI, I have provided a summary of my experiences with CradleCare and CardKeeper -- within the context of SD card problems partially correlated w/installation of some Hobbyist Software apps -- in two messages I posted under the Hobbyist Software section of the MyTreo forums, both titled "Re: Loss of recognition of / access to SD card app". Strangely, CardKeeper v1.3.1 appears to solve the problem I was having on my 700p, while neither v2.18 or 2.21 of CradleCare seem to help.

Sorry to beat this horse some more, but I'm a (enthusiastic) new Treo 700p user also trying to cope with a 4gb card that goes away whenever I power down, requiring me to physically eject and reinsert the card to get it recognized again. It's a SanDisk card, the second brand I've tried, but same problems with both. My 2gb SanDisk card works fine, no problems at all, but I really would love to have 4gb always available. I've tried the demo of the latest CradleCare and Cardkeeper -- neither seem to help. They will reliably scream at me when I power back up and they find the card unmounted, but the "try to remount" checkbox doesn't seem to be effective. So I'm stuck in a situation where I'm going to have to reinsert the card every time I use the Treo, or accept the notion that my 4gb card will just have to be additional offline storage I'll keep in my pocket. It would seem that Cradlecare has become the universal (temporary?) solution to this problem -- I've noticed the forum traffic on the topic is way down in recent months and everyone seems to be using it successfully. If everyone is simply getting an alarm or soft reset, I don't quite see how that's easier than reinserting the card. Anyway, I can't figure why it's not working for me..... any suggestions, anyone? Anybody think this might be fixed with what I understand is an upcoming ROM update? Thanks, Mike

Try deactivating as many background programs as you can, you'll find that it'll reduce the frequency of this particular problem (Stuff I can't turn off because I can't live without include KeySmoother with the wonderful Tahoma F5 8pt, TreoKeyHack, Butler, and PhoneTechnician) (Stuff I really would like to enable, but won't because of increased instability determined after hundreds of hours of troubleshooting in my 700p include BrightCam, FindHack, UDMH, VolumeCare and YourCall) . I find that resetting the Treo without the card in the slot works best for me. CradleCare slows down your Treo significantly. Get PalmInternals, run a speed test, install CradleCare, enable it, run a speed test again (Wow!). You'll have to disable AND reboot to regain speed. Use CardKeeper instead.
Cordially,
RicardoG

Well, for other reasons I did my first hard reset this morning and, with only MagicButton and Pocket Tunes 4 added to the factory default stuff, the problem was as bad as ever. If I eject and reinsert the 4GB card it will be recognized and useable only until I power down at which point it goes invisible again, requiring another eject and reinsert. My 2GB card (and my Treo 770p in general) has been pretty bulletproof but I'm heartbroken that I'm not going to be able to keep a 4GB card in it without a lot of fussing.
