I have the same problem... "Synchronization cannot be compleed successfully. Reconnect your device and try again. If the problem persists, see the Microsoft ActiveSync Troubleshooter in Microsoft ActiveSync Help on your desktop computer." I have a Treo 700wx from Sprint. And, I'm using ActiveSync 4.2. I started out doing a bluetooth sync. When I got the message, I connected my USB and tried. I've run the troubleshooter which told me to check Zone Alarm. I followed that guide. I've done a soft reset. I changed my bluetooth settings back to the original settings. And, I haven't had any luck. I tried to follow the advice of going to Windows/Temp and cleaning the directory. However, I can't find that folder in my Windows directory on my device. Was that written for a previous version? Or, does WM5 hide files and folders? I would really like to resolve this problem without doing a hard reset.
Oh... One other thing. I can click 'Explore' through ActiveSync and see my device. It just won't synchronize. Thanks.

Okay... I'm getting frustrated now. I couldn't find any useful information searching the net. I recently got MS Office 2007. So, I uninstalled ActiveSync 4.2. Then, I installed Office 2007. Finally, I downloaded and installed ActiveSync 4.5. I was able to get my Treo to sync. However, now I'm back to square one. I'm once again not able to sync and get the same error I listed above.
I just followed the advice of previous posts... Checked for the Temp folder in Windows on my device. I don't have a 'Temp' folder. My Temporary Internet Files are empty. Still no solution. I really need to synchronize... I would appreciate anyone with something new to try to get this fixed. Thanks.

I've been searching google etc. for months to resolve this. I've been able to get partial syncs, Contacts & appointments update, but nothing else. Thank you very much for this. I deleted 6221 files from the temp directory. I started last night and it was still running this morning. When I got home from work it had finally finished, and Presto! Sync worked again. Thank you, thank you.

:-?This is what I have going on....I install ActiveSync, create the partnership, sync and all is well. Disconnect the phone and come back, connect the phone and ActiveSync comes up stating that it can not sync. I click OK on the message and ActiveSync shows my device name as Guest instead of the correct name Treo. However, if I delete the partnership and then reconnect my Treo it will create the partnership again and sync up successfully. Once I disconnect it ActiveSync goes back to telling me it can not sync. There is nothing in my temp folder under Windows. Any ideas?

"if it won't sync is to go to <PROGRAMS> then <FILE EXPLORER> then <WINDOWS> then to the <TEMP> folder."
Hi All,
I was expecting somebody knows the solution for this problem
Problem: I have HTC Touch (Black one) P3450 from last few days while I connect my device to PC i am getting below error message.
error: "Synchronization cannot be completed successfully. Reconnect your device and try again. If the problem persists, see the Microsoft ActiveSync Troubleshooter in Microsoft ActiveSync Help on your desktop computer."
I had restarted my device many time also I had reinstall ActiveSync 4.5 to my PC. but as the relationship between PC and Mobile device is not identified it will giving me above error.
i had tried to find out <PROGRAMS> then <FILE EXPLORER> then <WINDOWS> then to the <TEMP> folder but I didn;t find it out on my device. Please help me in this regards.
More interesting is when I connect my device to pc the ActiceSyc 4.5 start but not able to sync, pup up with above error. but I can clikc on explore button on Activesyc window to navigate.
Please help.
