Lightwav uses the mp3's that are on your sd card. It doesn't move them, convert them, change them in any way. Just uses what you have and you can choose where in the song you want the ringtone to start. While it has an extensive profile manager, it doesn't include an alarm clock. Nice idea though...I think I'll suggest it to the developer. He is very active in the forums here on mtdn and usually adds in user requested features. I'd give it a try.

so you guys are bad people. I went home for a long lunch b/c I forgot my hotsync cable. I dL'd the alarm + ringtone program from the link above. using the trial for now.

ridiculous. so easy to install. configure. I set up about 4 rules while sitting in traffic. mp3 ringtones on my sd card -> play when certain people call, and you can choose 'select' portions or all of that particular contact's numbers.

I also set up to provide a large photo when the person calls, which also, can be on sd. works like this, ya hear the song start, look, photo appears. hit the center button to choose ignore or answer. didn't see ignore with text, when a photo/contact comes up.

Haven't looked at the alarm program yet. I hope it does what i need.

you guys are dangerous.

thanks!  Tongue

You can download midi tones from the download area or places like mididb.com, these can be used as ringtones without any other software.

I went into downloads and saw the ones there , I didnt see that I was supposed to go to mididb.com , so i am going to look there.

To note, there are PLENTY of other places online that offer midi-type ringtones - our Downloads Section and databases like mididb.com are just examples, particularly examples with free ones.

The Centro also should natively support wav and amr ringtones, so you may want to look for these as well since they are far more capable than midi.  By "natively support", I mean you can use these files as ringtones without needing additional software or external cards.

Do any of the recommended ringtone management apps let you trim down mp3's or start the ring at a certain spot in the song?  Almost every song seems to start with a fade in or a soft beginning, I could trim them down on my pc but that's more effort ;-)  By the way I have musictones, freeware that lets you turn an mp3 into a ringtone for the built-in tone management, but I also want to add in functionality like unique ringers for each contact, ring profiles, etc.

Lightwav lets you start from whatever point in a song you choose.
