hey all,
what application(s) support(s) using a different MP3 for each caller in your contacts list?
I want to assign individual tones to MANY different callers in my contacts, but the ones that come with the treo are lame. really if I HAD to use midi, I'd do that, I just need a way to add midi ringtones to my existing selections.
can anyone help?
thanks! -Kevin

I second LightWav. It's definitely the best thing around for managing ring tones using mp3 and wav files.

I've been trying out Techsounds... it handles ALL the sounds on your Treo, not just ringtones.

Techsounds doesn't do individual ring tones though. I use KoolSounds instead of TechSounds for the other (system) sounds.

Hi SanDW, I need help with Lightwav. I installed it on my SD Card and couldn't get my Treo 600 to use MP3 files as my ringtones. Even after I've customised it, indivually, when i receive incoming calls, its still those ear-waxing midi tones. Do I have to install it into the internal memory? I installed LightWav into my SD. Please help.

Lightwav has to be run from RAM. You can't run it from your sd card. This is true of any program that reacts to "triggers" like phone calls, alarms, etc.

While it's true that LightWav cannot be run from the SD card, all the MP3s can be stored there without any problem.

The nice thing about downloading from mtdn is there's a line telling you which Treos software has been tried on.
