Hi Everyone,

When you gotta new phone, (specially a Treo like mini computer I know we are so eager to play with it) but plz DO NOT do any fancy things at first. Do not install and sync it with the desktop software right away.

Just USE it as any other standalone ORDINARY PHONE for couplla days. Make calls, take calls, browse the net if possible, add, delete, cut a few contacts, memos, tasks whatever you please but all with the software comes pre-installed. DO NOT install any additional software yet. Do not transfer your old PIM data either if you had had another old Palm.

Live with your SIM contacts for a while. Don't get me wrong on this. This is the proven best way to eliminate the phones which has come with manufacture defects or any other software conflicts.

When you are absolutely sure that your new Treo phone is working like a phone only you start adding stuff and sync with the desktop. Everyone knows that initial Treo's had software problems, so please get and install the latest firmware (1.28 at least). And stick with your most comfortable settings.

DO NOT put unknown alien software to your working Treo even later.  idea Go here, http://pluggedin.palmone.com, register yourself and gett a Treo Simulator for your model. Try unknown software with it first on the computer.

Read this forum. There are tons of info there.

And believe me, I have played with it, have tried a thousand of apps, flashed the ROM for nearly 16 times and my darling works like a charm.

This is the best phone world has seen yet unless the little clunky big part.  So you couldn't possibly go wrong.

So happy Treoing everyone.... laugh

Nice reading Smiley

I've tried the simulator for my device as suggested by you. However I can't figure out how to increase the memorycard (SD)storage size in the simulator.....

...how is this done? I only get 100k of storage on "the SD-card"...

Well I guess there is no limit to the SD storage since it is actually your hard disk space. Even though it says 100K it's just a reference.

Go to the folder where PalmSim.exe is run and see a folder called Card1 or something. Inside that you can put any number of files under Launcher or any other (AUDIO/VIDEO/DCIM) folder. Limit is the free space you have on your harddrive I guess.

When you right click the simulator you get a menu as Settings/Memory through that you can change the device RAM and the heap size.

Hope this helps..

Not quite Wink

To describe an example:
-Installed Aeroplayer
-Installed Plug-ins (mp3, acc, ogg...)

Aeroplayer cant find the plug-ins even though they are located both on "card" and on device.Settings of course set to search in the correct directory (Palm/Launcher...)

I also have some mp3 samples located in an Media/Audio folder on the card, and have set AeroPlayer to search "Entire card" for media.
AeroPlayer does not see these files either...

I also tried to move/copy files from RAM to SD using LauncherX - result not enough space left on card (99 og 100k free)

... and of cause my C: drive has 1,5GB free for me to use. All files presently on the virtual SD-card are placed there using Windows Explorer...

How come...?   Huh?

Wierd it works for me.

will see into this a bit more when I get time.

There is a PALM folder in C: and you may try deleting it and restarting the Sim.
