and.... as of November 1st, all ATT phones will say Cingular on the screen. As of that point it will be one network and the services offered will somehow be blended together. For example, Mobile to Mobile calls will be free (if you have that option on the plan obviously) among other many things..... I'm just hoping to get a better data plan now |

I updated my TREO 600 with 3.06 ATTWS some time ago. My phone does not say 'Cingular' on the screen or when I turn wireless on/off. It operates just like it always has, except that the 'voicemail number' is wrong and I can't change it  Should all ATTWS phones be updated with the 3.05 CNG now that the 'sale' is official? and.... as of November 1st, all ATT phones will say Cingular on the screen. As of that point it will be one network and the services offered will somehow be blended together. Well, my phone still says ATTWS despite what the (cingular) rep told me, but even tough they are one company, they are still far from being integrated with the services. For example: my wife has a Cingular line. On her plan, she has unlimited Mobile to Mobile minutes, which means that any inbound/outbound call from/to a Cingular AND ATT are included in that. But, me, as an ATT customer, even tough I have the plan for Mobile to Mobile, it only covers other ATTWS numbers..... and this will likely be like this for a couple more months. As for your question... leave the ATT FW, no need to upgrade to Cingular, unless you want to.... And as for Voice mail number.... should be your mobile number... |

yup, they finally completed the transaction. Fido will remain unchanged for now..... until their CEO can think of some nasty ways to force the Bills plans to go much more expensive as expected |

nope is Fido. there are many services Rogers can not disconect or change yet. Like house Wireless (cell phone) DSL which Rogers does not have Special merger of Land Line/Cell phone hybrid etc. If they touch any of those, they'll be in deep waters at the court |

This might actually get me to switch from T-Mobile. They're service here in Chicago has been better for me than was Verizon and ATT, but their billing department must have trouble with math and English. They don't make sense when they explain how they incorrectly billed me. Go figure.
Maybe Cingular will make ATT worth using...

I used all 3 carriers in Chicago for some years, and T-Mo was the best at the time, but now Cingular will have AWS's spectrum, plus, Cingular bought the licenses Nextwave had in Chicago and never used. Cingular could grow to be the premier carrier there
