re: writing speed.
I think it depends on the Size, lets see how well it writes when you get a 512 / 1024 meg disk  Smiley

kazinvan

my results are of the 60x (the one that scored 309, 512 mb, GSM)

Thanks man, keep up the awesome work you are doing there in that site, is really good for reference.

That merits another kudos Wink

Got a pair ... an 'ExtreMEmory 1GB' (sourced from Aria UK on their recent cheap deal) and a 'Panram 512mb' (sourced from Fry's Electronics, CA in June) neither of which is in the website DB so posting here ... is there a tool which will identify the true manufacturer/etc of an SD card ?

FWIW similar inconsistent write speed results as others indicate though ...

Been a while since I logged in, thanks for making the thread sticky.  Up to 217 entries in the list with a lot of different brands and devices which allows for a good comparison.  One of these days I may update the site, I have a few ideas.   I started a new job last week which is keeping me very busy.

Just wanted to say hi!

Treo 650 Verizon (CDMA)
This was a KingMax Platinum 1GB, *called* an SD, but there is no lock and it's incredibly thin like the MMC  In fact I'd think you could almost get 2 in there.  From NewEgg, US $51 Postage included. I dunno what all the numbers mean, but TCPMP does fine as a personal favourite "test" of mine :-)
Comment on size, y'all noted that bigger is slower, I read the filing system is linear like the windows FS, which would be a good explanation for it...for whatever it's worth...

I'd love to see info about cards that have problems (that we should stay away from), or cards that may have a minor problem that could be fixed (i.e. user related).  If not, post your bad cards here:

I used to love my 600 but the 650 is more lovable

« Reply #42 on: 01 September 2005, 10:54:40 »

Are the VFSMark results really consistent? On a Treo 650, if I run it three times in a row I get results varying from 390 to 470. I also have a feeling that the results may vary depending on what background applications you are running.

Here is an interesting finding... hopefully my last bit of creative procrastination for the day, I do have a lot of other things to do...  Smiley

I did not like my VFSMark results, so...

I took my Sandisk Ultra II 1G SD card and I formatted it. First time I ran VFSMark, File Create went up to close to 600%, and VFSMark ended up at 480. I ran the test again immediately, and File Create went down to 92% VFSMark to 380. After that the results for File Create and File Delete are pretty consistent at 92/44 and VFSMark 380-390

Likewise, if I use CardSpeed, after formatting I can test my card up to 4 times and it reports Wrt32bit at 222, after the 4th time it goes down to 110

What is going on???????
