Also (and I hope somebody else will step in here to provide this) it would be nice to have some static content in plain English (i.e. not too technical) about how to read this info and in what circumstances people should buy a fast card or a slower card would be good enough.
If anyone wants to write this or provide a link, I'll add it in.

I just uploaded stats on two different models on PNY 512 SD cards... one shown to be mfg by Toshiba, the other unknown.
The mfg by Toshiba is much slower VFSMark 210, vs. the unknown PNY of VFSMark of 295.
The only visible difference from between the two is the faster model has a label on covering the entire front of the SD card, that indicated PNY, 512Mb & Lock indication direction. While the slower model has a partial label, on the lower half of the card, which only states PNY. The 512Mb, Lock indication, and SD markings, are directly printed on the blue plastic housing.

I have some basic stats on the page now that there is some data to work with. Looks like the PNY cards are the slowest, and there is a big range in prices.

He, my entry is listed as Best value (for size) and Best deal for a 1024Mb. Always happy when it looks like I've found a good deal (remember I'm Dutch )

Mol, it does seem like you got a good deal!
There seems to be a HUGE difference between some of the cards, with more data I hope some patterns will emerge. I think we would need about 100 data points to start making generalizations, which is likely going to be hard to get.

The Transcend cards seem to be good performers, but we only have the 45X listed. They also make a 60X card, hopefully someone has one and can post some numbers.

I'm not sure how I will display comments yet, likely a better DHTML tooltip. I just need time to add it.

Just got a new SanDisk Ultra II 256MB card, and want to post my results, but after several tests I had some consistent discrepencies:
File Create: 457% File Delete: 290% File Write: 207% File Read: 169% File Seek: 421% DB Export: 212% DB Import: 416% Record Access: 341% Resource Access: 333%
VFSMark: 316
I bolded the File write because this is where I had the discrepencies, though they were consistent (if that is not an oxymoron). After about 30 separate tests -- all after the card was formatted -- I EITHER got file write of 76% OR got write speeds that were above 176% (all the way up to 211%, and the 207 happened 3 times, so I went with that number). The 76% write speeds put the VFSMark at 301; however, I did not necessarily get the 76% more than getting the 207%, which was the weird part. Let me know which results I should post to your database. Thanks; holla atcha bol
Oh, also, I don't know what to put, if anything, for what I payed for it, since I won it off of eBay for $46. Thanks

The Higher one.
Although as you can see, the Sandisk doesn't perform as well as advertized, for the money they charge.
other brands that cost less, perform in par, or better than SanDisks
kazinvan
can you please update the KingMax saying they are the 60x model Thanks
because KingMax like other brands has normal "slow" ones and 60x models
The ones currently listed in your Site are from the 60x models
KingMax doesn't really sell the slower 45x models anymore, is HARD to even find them in stock from any retailer.

other brands that cost less, perform in par, or better than SanDisks... O k, I took your advice and posted the results of the test I put here. I have to disagree, however, with your opinions AllGamer, going by the results that I posted -- or by my averages for that matter. The Write speeds are by far the best of any card listed -- whereas the Treo 600 has on average lower speeds than with other devices, and this test was performed on a Treo 600. Write speeds I would think are the most important part of this diagnostic -- at least, thas how it is for me. That said, I agree that SanDisk does overcharge TREMENDOUSLY for their cards -- although for me, getting one BRAND NEW for only $46.00 was a definite must-buy. And after testing the writing to the card (a recording with SoundRec), I am more than happy with my investment. Holla atcha bol Now I still need a cheap 1(+)GB.....

I added the 60x kingmax cards to the list, but I don't know if I want to update the current stats as I don't know for sure what card they were submitted for. Mike

Aiite, I finally got some real (and more seemingly realistic) results -- most of all, these are more consistent, so I think I can more confidently post these (please excuse me if I messed up protocol with posting 2 sets for one card):
File Create: 460% File Delete: 290% File Write: 126% File Read: 169% File Seek: 421% DB Export: 212% DB Import: 416% Record Access: 341% Resource Access: 333%
VFSMark: 304
