Enter your Card Speed and VFSMark results

Instead of a long thread with various results, please submit your benchmarks to the script below, that way we can sort and run stats on various numbers to get some real data.

http://heller.ca/cgi-local/palm/cardspeed.cgi

No stats yet, but once I get some data to work with I'll add that in. Let me know if you run into any problems.

Thanks,
Mike

Great initiative. I'll upload the numbers for my card tomorrow.

Would be nice to have fields for entering price, reseller, and purchase date.

Info currently shown in the tooltip if you hover over the card brand in the list.  I'm not sure how I'll run the stats yet.

I just entered my scores, By the way, you ask for the Price, but how come you are not showing it in the page?

Anyways, from my observation, Panasonic and Sandisk are okay, but when you consider the Price vs Performance, they are not really worth it, when you can find cheaper alternatives like KingMax.

At least they are not as Freakin DAMN expensive as the Lexar, it might be 12 mb/s but still, god... i can buy 2 Panasonic / KingMax with that money.

Sandisk seems to be slower of the bunch in the 60x | 10 mb/s arena

I am, hover your mouse over the SD card brand name.  It's a temporary solution until I come up with a good way to display the data.

I added my Transcend 1Gb card to it. Interesting that the person that posted the test for the same card right before my entry (he has the Treo CDMA and I have the GSM) apparently paid almost twice as much as I did  Shocked

You are likely correct, but at this point I'll just leave it in.

I can see it in Mozilla, Firefox, Netscape 7, and Internet Explorer (on WinXP and Windows 2000).  What OS/Browser are you using where it doesn't work?

I think it would make sense to make the VFS Mark column stand out a little more, as this is probably the column that people are most interested in.

Also (and I hope somebody else will step in here to provide this) it would be nice to have some static content in plain English (i.e. not too technical) about how to read this info and in what circumstances people should buy a fast card or a slower card would be good enough.

Ok, I made a few changes to the layout, added some color to make things easier to read, moved the VFS Mark column to be first (for data) and made it stand out.  Added an "average" row at the bottom so you can see how your card compares to the average.  Added a very basic analysis at the end.

I'll second that suggestion.
