This is what I meant: It is formatted to be used with 2 rows of favorites.

don't know if anyone has realised, but if you use 'SimNotify' it remembers your wallpaper BUT it also remember the number of rows showing, e.g.
wireless on - 6 rows wireless off - 2 rows (therefore displays the posted wallpaper correctly)
I thought it was pretty neat, and hadn't realised it could do it.

That is indeed a cool feature...if you can get it working. So far I haven't been able to get SIMNotify to work on my Treo 650 (unlocked/unbranded, with the latest updates)...it just beeps when the phone changes state, but doesn't change the wallpaper or anything else. I've already posted about this in JFMw's Place, and hopefully I'll get a response when he returns from his honeymoon...but in the meantime, have any of you got any ideas?

AZ- Here are some thoughts (these are all obvious, so forgive me in advance).... 1 Turn your phone on. 2 Make sure the "enable" box is checked in SIMNotify. 3 Then go into your phone app, choose preferences, and set the wall paper equal to the dial pad, and the rows to 2. 4 Then go into SIMNotify and press the "save" button. 5 Next turn your phone off. 6 Return to the phone app and choose preferences again. 7 Set the wall paper to the photo of the airplane and 1 row of favorites. 8 Then go into SIMnotify and press save. 9 Now exit SIMNotify and it should work. When you turn the phone on, the dialpad should be displayed. Whe you turn the phone off, the airplane will be displayed. If you are already within the phone app and you turn the radio on or off, it won't work. SIMNotify only changes the settings when you enter the phone app. Cheers

You may also want to check your version number to make sure you have the latest.
Cheers

Actually, not all of that is obvious, and most of it I had tried unsuccessfully before. The last bit especially is not made clear anywhere in the documentation. Also, does the "Phone On" wallpaper need to be the DialPad, or will it work with any wallpaper?

The "phone on" wall paper can be anything you want, as can be the "phone off" wall paper. The app will also recognize different sims so thhat you can have your wallpaper remind you which sim card you have plugged in, which is useful when traveling throughout Europe and swapping in local cards.

Well, I've made sure I have the latest version, courtesy of the MTDN Downloads Area...and using your settings exactly as described, it works. However, I've been completely unable to get it to switch from one wallpaper to another when the phone status changes, just from the Dial Pad to a photo wallpaper and back. I'll play around with it some more later after I've had a chance to get some sleep, but either I'm missing something, or there's a bug somewhere in the app that won't let it work properly for me....

I found the solution. I flew home this morning, and here is (to my best recollection) the conversation between the flight attendants and me: "Would you care for a drink?" "Black coffee, please." "Oh my god, are you watching a movie on that thing?" "Yes, I am. I have two full length movies on here." "I want one of those! Hey, look at what she's got." (Second flight attendant) "Oh wow - that's really cool!" "Thank you." "I love your bracelet too! You just have the coolest stuff!" So obviously the answer is, have tcpmp going when the flight crew go by and just tell them it's a personal dvd player if they ask.
