Those I use on a daily basis: splash id, 2day, datebk5, 4cast, butler, initiate, pocket quicken, snapper, takephone, lightwav, ptunes, bonsai (linked to todos), daynotez (to record all my meetings and take handwritten notes), timesheet and backupman (this has saved me many times over).
Reasoning: If I use an app on a daily basis, by default, it becomes a favorite.

World Mate is definitely among my most favorite applications, it combines a number of great utilities such as multiple time zone clocks and alarms, currency conversions and weather information, etc. It can be a godsend sometimes if you’re a frequent traveler. I also like Snapper Mail, personally I think it’s the best e-mail application on the planet, and I use it everyday. Pocket Tunes is another great quality application which I use mostly for streaming MP3 Radio. And last but not least is VeriChat, which I also use daily to communicate with my friends and co-workers.

I agree with Drevv, Snappermail is barnone about the best when it comes to email. You just cant match its stability.

Ok...since we're discussing faves here, I have a question. Before my 650, I used a Clie T-615, and I loved DateBk5. Used it for years. On the smaller Treo screen, some of the visual functionality is lost (icons in month view, specifically, which I loved - great for at-a-glance checks) and I find I'm defaulting back to the Palm calendar more often. Those of you who used DateBk...I'm curious to know how you made the adjustment yourselves? Any suggestions for rekindling the flame? I love threads like these...they always trigger another SW trial/shopping spree.

Lizzrd, I use to use the NX70V and with its big landscape of a screen I to used Datebk5, but I dont anymore just for what you described. I cant see the little icons much anymore so I too just use the old Palm standard. Nothing like reminiscing though.
