As the topic, I made the software to extract SMS from PDB file. If you want to test it, go here...

http://www.geocities.com/atom_shiro

It will display Thai language, just skip it!!! set focus on link only  Tongue

I'm not sure that this version can be work with 650 DB or not? If you tested it, please tell me the result.  laugh

*** If it give some error like file not found, it means that you need VB6-runtime installed to your machine.

Doesn't work with the 650 SMS database. I'm sending you a copy of mine so you can see if it would be hard to fix it.

Looks like you should get in touch with multik, see this thread. He just posted a command line tool that works for the Treo 650 database.

I have also tried sms2csv (for treo 650) but got "Cannot open <file> for reading" inside the .txt file Huh?

please help... i need to retrieve 33,000++ sms

shiro: excellent idea for an application. You and multik should get together and see if you can work a way to convert a treo 600 message database to a treo 650 message database. I know LOADS of us that have upgraded are annoyed that we lost all our message history Smiley

Dear gjdw,

I updated the new one.... it will support upto 65000 record. Could you please try it? If you get any problem, please tell me immediately.

One more thing, does anyone know what is the maximum number of sms of Treo600?

Dear Shiro,

Thanks for the update. Will try it & give you feedback.

As for maximum text messages for Treo 600, I wouldn't know for sure except that mine started doing a soft-reset when it hit 33,000++ messages.  When I'd launch SMS, I could see a brief "importing SMS..." incon+message and then blank screen.

Perhaps a dumb question but why do want to keep 33K+ messages on your phone? I can see why you would want to archive them on your PC, but all on your phone?

While we're at it: how many days/weeks/years/lives did it take you to get to 33K+ messages?
