ZDNet Pans Palm’s Foleo
Matthew Miller of ZDNet didn’t have much favorable to say about the Foleo:
“The Palm Foleo is taking a lot of heat in the press right now and after taking some time to think about it some more I tend to agree that there really isn’t a place for the device between a smartphone and a PC. There is a simple solution to add a full size QWERTY keyboard that has been around for years and smartphones are so advanced today that there really isn’t a need for more.”
We disagree with Mr. Miller. In our opinion, the Foleo’s ultra-mobile laptop form factor will hold great appeal for professionals tired of heavier albatross-like laptops who want more screen space and a larger keyboard than is provided by a smartphone. We think Palm is taking an early lead in a space likely to grow.
