TopSelecText 4.4 (for Palm OS)
TopSelecText 4.4 (for Palm OS)
RNS:: TopSelecText was renamed from
RNS:: TreoSelecText.
It now supports Treo and Centro smartphones, so we decided to give it a more general name.
Free updates for all RNS:: products are still valid for renamed products.
Normally, there is no way to select/highlight text on your Treo smartphone without removing the stylus or struggling with a fat and/or stubby finger.
Now you can do it!
Use the following Shift and 5-Way Navigator combinations to highlight words:
- Shift+Left
- Shift+Right
- Shift+Up
- Shift+Down
Use the
Shift+Center combination to do one of these:
- highlight current word
- highlight current line
- highlight whole text field
- show system Command Bar
- dial selected number
- send SMS to selected number
- send e-mail to selected address
- navigate selected web address
- lookup selected name in contacts
copy selection / paste text at cursor
One-hand use option - with RNS:: TopSelecText you will not have to use two hands to operate your Treo, or even take out your stylus.
RNS:: TopSelecText is a Preferences panel, which means its icon is not displayed among other applications (in a launcher), but it shows up as a new panel in the Palm OS preferences (the "Prefs" application).
jameshenderson: It id true that FieldPlus is free, but then FieldPlus also slows your Palm (50 ticks using PalmInternals). TopSelecText is fast (0 extra ticks in PalmInternals)
lworth02: why isn't this functionality built in?? :)
xblu322: great idea but fieldplus is better coz its free!!! does the same
bjmarler: Not sure why this is needed for $ when Field Plus does the same and is free.
varoomba: Works great on the Treo 700p.
AWESOME! Why wasn't this built into the Treo 600, 650, 700... I've used it on all of them.
rano: It is available through the "RNS:: TST" panel in Prefs.
nimra: Strange: I can see the app through the main info; it has been synced to Orange Treo650 but it does not appear on the screen, so no chance to start it... can anybody help? Idea is great.
jrhett: Exactly the same as FieldPlus, which is Freeware.
