TopCommandBar 1.1.1 (for Palm OS)
TopCommandBar 1.1.1 (for Palm OS)
RNS:: TopCommandBar was renamed from
RNS:: TreoCommandBar.
It now supports Treo and Centro smartphones, so we decided to give it a more general name.
Free updates for all RNS:: products are still valid for renamed products.
Command bar is an important Palm OS feature that is missing on the Treo devices for no apparent reason.
Now you can use it again!
Depending on your preferences, use any of the following Menu key combinations to popup the command bar:
- Menu press-and-hold
- Option+Menu
- Shift+Menu
RNS:: TopCommandBar is a Preferences panel, which means its icon is not displayed among other applications (in a launcher), but it shows up as a new panel in the Palm OS preferences (the "Prefs" application).
kilo94: Plenty of freeware versions of this as mentioned earlier, and Butler does this as well...why would ANYONE pay for it?
Chuck Lawhorn: With Fields Plus, which is a free download already on MTDN, you can get the Command bar by pressing and holding the menu key, so this shareware software is not necessary.
nlg: Version 1.1 fixes a huge problem with resets. This does what it says -simple, functional, and you get three key-combination choices for retrieving the Command Bar. Not sure what olac below means, but if he's suggesting that "Option+Menu" works on an out-of-the-box Treo to bring up the Command Bar I beg to differ. Perhaps he's using some other 3rd party app like Butler to do this, or another hack, or perhaps my Treo just doesn't support this, but I can't get this to work using that key combination without using something like this app.
olac: "Option+Menu" make it already on the standard OS !!!
Version 1.1:
- Bugfix - the Option+Menu and Shift+Menu triggers relied on graffiti state instead of key state.
- Bugfix - could crash on entering the "RNS:: TCB" Prefs panel.
