Treo 650 Updater for Verizon Wireless - OFFICIAL 1.04 (for Palm OS)
Treo 650 Updater for Verizon Wireless - OFFICIAL 1.04 (for Palm OS)
This is an older version. Please do not use this unless you are experiencing troubles going from 1.03 to 1.05a. You can find 1.05a here.
Same version as posted October 3, 2005 by Palm. Attention: If you are not a Verizon Wireless Treo 650 customer, do not download this version of the software. It contains carrier-specific requirements that are incompatible with non-Verizon Treo 650s.
Note: This ZIP archive contains all the files that need to be transferred to the Treo, but it does NOT include an installer. It is primarily intended for advanced users who do not have access to a Windows or Mac machine:
* Download and extract to your SD Card (with HandZipper or a similar tool).
* Backup your data.
* Clear at least 11 MB of RAM space (best to simply hard reset).
* Copy/move all files to RAM.
* Warm reset.
* If the updater doesn't start automatically, execute the "Device Customizer" application manually.
Use with CAUTION!

southwestroadboy: It works great. no problem just what i need
carbine68: u guys are not smart. follow the instructions and it works fine. brilliant update.
jstahlca: Is this firmware update still causing issues?
finziamit: Treo resets itself several times a day since I installed the update (it was only 2 weeks old when I di it), some of my software does not run smoothly now (especially Ringo Pro and EPspeak that I had to uninstall since Verizon will not take responsobility to the issue even though they admit that the update is causing).
Firestormf: Same problem - soft reset loop when turning on phone. Still unresolved.
This was an almost out of the box Treo that only had a couple applications loaded on it.
doubleaa: once i had the constant looping solved by a contact at palm, had to hard rest, it has worked with a single flaw
jocamero: Used this version to create a custom ROM w/o RealPlayer and all the crap VZW puts on there. Running great. Thanks for the instructions Shadowmite!
Chuck Lawhorn: I had no such problems. The instructions were clear, concise, and had to be followed exactly. My Treo is running smoothly, and I was even able to correct some file version problems I had from the transition from T3 to Treo.
fbier: Caused my 650 to go into an infinite soft reset loop. Great update. And now Verizon is telling me I'll have to wait 3 days for them to send me a replacement unit. Great update, guys.
