Reset Doctor to the Rescue ...
Reset Doctor saves your preferences, registrations and settings from being lost with resets.
100% Guarantee: If for any reason you don't think Reset Doctor is fantastic - I will give you a 100% refund.
There is a nasty bug in the operating system of Palm Devices with the new Non-Volatile-Filing-System (NVFS).
It means that sometimes after a reset, you will lose all your settings and preferences.
If you've ever had this happen, you'll know how frustrating it can be. Not only do you have to restore your settings, but you can miss important alarms.
If it's never happened, then you can just run Reset Doctor in the background - it will keep your preferences backed up, and even allow you to restore them a couple of times for free should you ever need to!
Reset Doctor helps to fix this by keeping a copy of your preferences and automatically restoring them if they're lost.
Other applications need their preferences to set alarms, to know you have registered and to function normally. Reset Doctor restores the preferences during the reset. This means that other applications get their preferences and can do their jobs, so you don't miss anything important!
skarface101: 100% in agreement with gb1291. I tried to install it 12 times, even after hard-resetting my 700p (just to make sure). Endless reset loop every time. 'nuff said.
numinousstone: This one worked like a charm from day one. When I switched from Blazer to Opera, setting the cache cleaner at (12 MB) kept me from crashing like I did at first. Good work.
csesget: This is a fantastic app. After losing all my preferences and passwords several times, Reset Doctor has made life with a Treo so much happier!
dlboyd: A must have. Awesome support. It is hard to describe what it is like with virtually no resets. When reset occurs logs it with terms you can understand. Great job.
gb1291: I would have given a rating of 0 if I could. As noted by another reviewer, this program can cause reset loops, and in my case, it even destroyed my preferences.
Here's what happened: I installed the trial version of Pref Doctor, and it immediately stuck my Treo 650 into an infinite reboot loop, which I could only stop with a warm reset. Once I finally managed to boot normally, my preferences were lost, and my Treo displayed this message at startup:
"PrefDoctor spotted a preference loss, but didn't restore your preferences. Please register online to recover these preferences."
So, am I supposed to pay for a program to prevent the damage it may cause to me? How ludicrous.
bmcilvaine: I had never had this problem till I used this or Buler, which has a similar feature.
FWIW.
ChasTreo: The new memory flushing option is a life saver.
KabukiAssassin: this progrm is a lifesaver, but sometimes it can CAUSE problems itself. don't try to restore this proggy with a backup app unless you like reset loops.
still rocks though.
fireworksfx: This program is the only thing that lets me keep using my Treo, without it I lose my preferences several times a week and I was ready to throw in the towel.
So if you are one of us that loses preferences, you NEED this program!
