PocketDoan 3.4.1 (for Palm OS)
PocketDoan 3.4.1 (for Palm OS)
What is a doan you may ask? In Zen practice it is the person responsible for ringing the bells at the beginning and end of a meditation. Like a traditional doan, the PocketDoan meditation timer informs the user when to begin and end a session. It frees one from having to keep track of time, and thus allows one to more fully engage in one's practice. Even though doan is a Zen Buddhist term, this application has no particular tie to Zen. PocketDoan is quite flexible and can be adapted to many styles of meditation. It supports both single and multi-stage sessions. Additionally, a variety of alert types are provided with varying degrees of discreteness (audio, visual, and vibration). This makes PocketDoan suitable for both solo and group meditation sessions.

doc floyd: SUPERB! Very useful in my daily activities! Keep up the great work!
wido: EXCELLENT¡¡¡¡
ratbastid: Excellent application. I use it in my meditation practice--and to time boiled eggs!
aggerundio: It is a most useful thing for a PE instructor. Very handy and practicable . AGGerundio
goldweard: as well as meditation, I use this for my acupuncture patients for various tratment lengths.
Prius: I've been looking for a program that will handle multible alarms like PocketDoan. I do a long meditation practice with a number of discrete segments. PocketDoan is simple to setup and then you just push the start button at the beginning of every meditation sessions and the alarms ring or vibrate as scheduled. The ability to easily adjust the volumn of the tones is very helpful along with the variety of tones. Thanks for a must have program.
