Plug Forward Express 1.3 (for Palm OS)
Plug Forward Express 1.3 (for Palm OS)
Plug Forward Express: Save your minutes!
Have your calls automatically forwarded to your land line when your Treo is plugged into a cable or cradle. You will also avoid poor signal at your home or office.
Use Plug Forward Express if you need to forward to only one number. For multiple forwarding numbers, see Plug Forward.
For the following mobile phones:
* PalmOne Treo 270
* PalmOne Treo 300
* PalmOne Treo 600
* PalmOne Treo 650
* PalmOne Treo 680
* palmOne Treo 700p
Note: May not work with all carriers. Test first before registering. Check with your service provider regarding possible call forwarding fees.
Joad: ouch - forwarding fees... and I wonder how it handles being in a car charger/cradle... may not know the difference.
If the carriers just charged regular voice rates this would be a really useful tool. But unless it's an emergency it'd be cheaper to dump Cingular (or others) than to pay highway robbery rates just to have calls automatically dial to a landline that would be free anyhow.
Here's a potential hack for a developer to create - somehow create a way to utilize the 3-way calling feature to forward calls - then all you'd pay is double your voice minutes for any received calls. (send me a free license for the idea :) )
fearless545: Cingular told me it was .40/min to call forward even if it was forwarded to a local number!
copasetic: This works, plain and simple.
Just an FYI, if you have VeriZon, note the disclaimer, above. Forwarding to a landline (a.k.a. "Busy/No Answer Transfer" on your bill) no longer is a "freebie." It burns minutes during the day just as if you had called the forwarded number to begin with. If you get lots of incoming calls, this is significant. I think this was changed as of Jan, 2004. It was a *cough* marketing (read: they were losing too much money) decision.
