PhonePad 1.0 (for Palm OS)
PhonePad is a simple 'take a number or quick note while you're on the phone' utility for the Treo 600 smartphone from Handspring/PalmOne. The application has seven fields:
1) phone number-you can type in a phone number, with or without area code.
2) notes-you can type notes into the note field.
3) copy number-you can copy the number you typed in order to paste it elsewhere.
4) copy notes-same actions as copy number.
5) dial-you can tap dial and dial the number you typed in.
6) last call-you can tap last call and the time, date and duration of your last call will appear in the notes field.
7) clear-no explanation necessary.

PhonePad for Treo 600
Pros: obviously, this app duplicates the actions of a number of other applications, but it combines all of the features into one application. Also, it's fully 5-way navigable.
Cons: it requires tweaking to access it quickly, with few taps, while on a phonecall. As the readme file indicates, you can assign it to a favorites, but you can't access a favorite while on a call and while in the phone app. So I added it to my 1buttonpro rightmost button and now it's quickly accessible. Will I buy it? I don't know yet. It's $9.95 at palmgear.
