WhollyMindless: After using a bluetooth dun hack with (YAHM) and getting it to work, pdanet was still faster, easier and more reliable. Use a USB charging cable and your connection will outlast your laptop. Using Earthlink (sprint CDMA network) 100+k measured at speakeasy.net and it works just about anywhere you need it to.
The technical support policy is the only serious downside to the situation. That they go so far as to admit that they MIGHT not respond is a bit egotistical - but the app does work!
Keith48: Tech support is non-existent. Only option is email and I have sent 8 emails with 2 responses - one that told me they do not refund. When the software works, it works great. But when I get error messages, I have to uninstall and reistall on both the computer and the 650. This is time-consuming and frustrating when their is work to be done other than fiddling with their buggy software. You may download this and it work fine, but understand that you will get NO help from them. Just search this site and you will see that for yourself.
Drjason: I'm in Florida and Hurricane Wilma has knocked out our power, telephone, cable and internet. I am on line writing now this because I tried last month and bought PDANet. I can go on line any time, anywhere (no WiFi searching) for FREE via my Sprint 650 Treo. That has to be worth some bucks. Also, I went out of town when the hurricane was coming and stayed at a Hilton. Ten dollars per day to use their internet service in my room; no dollars per day to use my PDANet internet service! The only two things I would like to see changed but don't think they can be are: I cannot make or receive phone calls when using PDANet and I have to load the program onto any computer I want to use PDANet with my phone. By the way, you can stay on line and use your other Treo features such as listen to MP3s.
ajmsn: It’s a good program and hassle free but the price is very high taking the odds of Newbie. This is not a great utility program that can ask for $34. It could have been fair if it is within $10-$15. I say this because DUN is configurable and I request to developer to consider it.
okramb: Easy install, works great. Was happy to pay $34 for a license.
litigator: V- Productions i am having the same problem getting the program installed. can anyone help? thanks.
deanrhee: works great and gives fast internet connections.
fancher: Wow, Cool, works!!
copasetic: Works, but NOT freeware...
joshuaprager: Supposed to be freeware but every few minutes a pop up appears that freezes the browser until you make it go away. It wants $34. The connection works at 192kb with a strong signal. Doesn't always connect even with a good signal.
