mCamLock 2.1.3 (for Palm OS)
mCamLock 2.1.3 (for Palm OS)
mCamLock for Treo 650 is an application that enables you to lock the Treo 650 built-in camera for a specified amount of time. During this time period, which you define before locking the camera, you will not be able to take new pictures. When the time period expires, you will be able to restore the camera functionality.
There is no way to unlock the locked camera before the specified time period expires without completely destroying the content of your device, including all installed applications and data.
If you attempt to use camera during the time when it is locked, the system will display an informational message clearly stating that the camera is disabled and showing the time remaining until the camera can be used again. You can show this message to the security officer before entering the environments in which the cameras are restricted, and use it as a proof that you will not be using your Treo camera inside such environments.

zteknofreak: having worked at numerous government and government contractor installations, i assure you, no security personnel that wants to keep their job will allow you on the premises with the hardware. they could care less whether it's disabled or not.
orr101: I don't really see the point. If I am going into a camera-restricted zone, and I show the security officer a screen that claims my camera is disabled, he will trust this? I wouldn't.
(e.g. what's to prevent me from putting up a graphic that LOOKS like the "this is locked" screen?)
jwaldis: This program is not supposed to be "nice" -- it is just supposed to work. Much of the time it does not. The program usually ignores the clock and keeps the camera turned off most of the time -- regardless of the settings.
Frustrating. I can't seem to get any help from the company.

sbkoh: Cool! However, locking the camera also affects apps like Brightcam. That's not so cool...
