KoolSounds 1.5 (for Palm OS)
KoolSounds 1.5 (for Palm OS)
Have you ever wanted to replace a specific application's alarm sound, system MIDI Alert sounds, Hotsync or Treo 600/650 Radio on and off sounds with wave/mp3/ogg/wma/aac sound file? Ever wanted to wake up and hear your favorite song in the morning? Now you can with KoolSounds. KoolSounds allows you to associate any uncompressed wave or mp3/ogg/wma/aac (requires PocketTunes or AeroPlayer) file to any application. When the application's alarm is triggered, KoolSounds will play the sound file from the external card and then let the application sound the alarm. KoolSounds works with most applications with alarms.
Now you can have more fun with your Palm and you will never be bored hearing the same old system sound again.

johnnypateenmike: Toysoft support is one of the best support systems I've ever encountered. If you have a problem with their software, they will offer suggestions without tiring until you are satisfied. A++++
RobBiros: Terrible!!!! 1 Star is too much.
kalosaurusrex: This is a horrible app. unable to select any files kept getting error "the audio player can not play from RAM" when I was selecting the file from my SD card. tired to remove the app and reboot, reboot, reboot and my treo 650 will not boot up again. HORRIBLE app. I give it a one because I can't select -10.
fireworksfx: Works fine, does what it says it will do. The "bad" comments below don't provide much detail do they?
EazyE: im scared to try this product by the reviews. however, LightWavPro from Toysoft works perfectly on my sprint650.
rockme2l8: peice of junk giving it 1 star is too generous
Farouq: Rubbish
bheisme: never buy anything from toysoft!
jgvii: This will SCREW UP your Treo!
TreoRenegade: Ohhhh, so THAT's how ya fix a bad app? Give it a new name, and watch the old KoolAlarm pages get overwritten by KoolSounds. ... And then watch as the same user complaints materialize .... again.

- Added support for alarm Vibrate for applications that do have
have vibrates such as Diddlebug for the Treo.

folder and set the folder in the Prefs.
- Fixed the Random sound refresh bug
1.2 changes Aug 14, 2005
- Added Random sound to application alarms. you will need
to select a sound file then go tap on the app again in the alarms
screen and then select "Random Sound" from the popup
- Added support for our wavPlayer if you dont have ptunes. basically
our wavPlayer only plays uncompressed and some compressed wav files.
dont install wavPlayer.prc if you have ptunes or aeroPlayer. this is the same
wavPlayer that comes with Lightwav and mp3Ringer.
- Added new misc Sounds. they are very Kool.
you can assign sounds for beam start, beam end, bluetooth send, find,
keyguard (treo only), low battery (tested on the treo650 only).
- Added Attention alarm sound. this is the sound that datebook/calendar
uses if you dont attend to you alarm. the first alarm the default assigned
sound will be played. if the attention manager is active then the attention
sound is played. goto the Prefs to set this sound.
- Added the current time to the keyguard on the Treo 600/650. the time
is in lower right and its red color. there is no option to turn on and off this feature yet ;)
- Added support for ram sounds. this is only good if you have wavPlayer only or
ptunes. aeroPlayer wont work. you will need to goto the Assign Sound screen
to convert the sound to ram from the sd card. you can then use the ram version.
i would recommend you to convert short songs to ram because they will load
and play very quickly compared to the sd card version.
