FREE SoundOff will remind you that your Treo sound is off. Clever, huh? Have you ever gone into a movie theater or meeting and purposefully turned the Treo sound off, only to realize much later, after missing several calls and alarms, that the sound was still off? D'oh! SoundOff has been created to solve this problem.
It automatically detects the present state of the sound switch and notifies you by vibrating and/or showing a popup message at the interval you select when that switch is off. Simple and efficient.
Note: Uninstall any previous version first!
griffinca: I thought it crashed my 700p right after initial install. Never happened again. Very useful app. A keeper. Should be part of the Palm OS.
domicius: A great application! Thanks for making it free!
echo4lima, after you tap the Sound-Off app icon in your launcher, press the menu button and then from options choose Preferences (look at the animated picture on this page).
lawrenceunger, ditto! That's exactly the thing I was looking for, a small icon in the status bar - but the splash will do for now.
gassiraro: crashed my treo 650
echo4lima: How does one access the app pref menu once you have set it up? I tap the Sound-Off app icon in my launcher (both LX and Palm Launcher) the screen goes blank and back to my launcher. Is the app set up so that once you have set the prefs for it, it will not allow changes or to deactivate it? Do I need to uninstall and reinstall???
startagl: This app is very handy. I would suggest 2 improvements the first would be (if possible) the ability to ring the phone or sound an alarm at a desired wait time, instead of just vibrate. I don’t know if it is possible to override the hardware. The second improvement would be to set a time as the wait time instead of just predetermined intervals.
Also documentation would be great.
annie-em: Fantastic! Came in handy several times.
montealegrem: Great App! Don't know what I did without it.
lawrenceunger: I wish there was an icon that would display next to the signal strength bars to show the sound is off.
Joad: Really nice work, stable and donationware.
The only tweaker is that with keyguard, soundoff and other apps that specifically require you push the center button - it takes quite a few clicks until you can actually select anything. Would be nice to have a choice of what button to press to dismiss.
mgtakahashi: Great product.... Just need a notification using the LED
