Cradle Robber was designed to address the growing concern of PDA-in-cradle theft. Most theft occurs in the work place where PDA devices are left out on desktops to charge or display a calendar. Cradle Robber is an alarm system that detects when a rechargeable PDA is removed from a charging cradle. The program runs continuously in the background without interfering with normal operations of the PDA. When an “armed” PDA is removed from a charging cradle: a continuous audio alarm will be heard, and all the buttons deactivated. Any person attempting to gain access to the PDA will have to enter an unlock code via the LCD touch screen.
