Note for Treo 650 users: Please see the developer's site for known compatibility issues. In preliminary testing the Sprint PCS Treo 650 system update (ROM v1.08 / PalmOS 5.4.7) appears to address all "Out of Memory" and crashing issues as well as providing other benefits for Treo 650 users. The developers suggest all customers upgrade to this new release of the Treo system software
shagger: v 2.2 - Does a nice job with the backup. However, I have a 700p on Verizon and this DOES cause a reset after the backup. I have NOT found a backup program that doesn't reset it. ARRGGGGHHH!!!!!
cthompgh: v 2.1 - ONLY Backup App that worked with my Treo 700p without resetting it. Resco & Backupbuddy reset it. Simple to understand and use-Many improvements and Features from v 1.xx that I used on my Treo 600-Finally a company that understands the new File system on the treo 700p-2 Thumbs Up !
linuxsense: Just what I wanted!
Works very well for me on my 650. Well worth the price. I have been using the Palm OS since Handspring came out with the Visor and this is my favorite backup software to date.
temoore: I think the upgrade pricing is out of line. I bought in May, 2005 (less than a year ago). They will only give me a 30% discount on the current version. This represents a 70% cost per year of the software for upgrades, which is way out of line. May look at alternatives, don't want to support this philosophy.
gt5l: updates should be free when no major revisions have been made and that is the case for v2
Joad: ***NOW IT ENCRYPTS BACKUPS!!!***
Finally, Backupman has pulled ahead of all competition by taking care of it's one major weakness. Even the GUI has been improved. For an extremely fair $10 bucks it should be a mandatory purchase for every Palm user.
lerudit: Very good stuff, really. I would give 10, if
1. the hourly backup allows freely starting any given time, rather than starting from now;
2. the auto generate filename use format such as '20051213', so that they would sort better;
3. a bigger file window to see more files a time, the backup and schedule buttons don't have to be so big really.
Southpaw018: Boy...that "Note for Treo 650 users" is a heck of a kicker. If it works, it's a beautiful program well worth the $10. As for me...I got the random reset error while backing up and not only did it create a garbled undeleteable file on my SD card, it also somehow destroyed my Unsaved Preferences. Highly, highly recommmend against if you're using a 650.
rgeorges: Awesome backup program . Works flawlessly. I love the automatic unattended backup feature. I could have used it many times. I never used to remember to back up regularly. Only $10.
bliipfert: After having trouble with all other Backup Apps on MyTreo, I was finally able to get a good backup on my Treo 650 with a bloated AddressBook. Thanks!!!
Changes and Updates since v2.1:
- Added option to extract a backup set's contents to a folder on the expansion card
- Added option to Tools->Advanced menu to automatically clear NVFS cache after backup completes
- Added option to Tools->Advanced menu to manually clear NVFS cache
- Added option to Tools->Advanced menu to remove deleted records in PIM databases (can be used to fix some situations where HotSync will freeze after a restore)
- Moved verify database timestamps to Tools->Advanced menu
- When performing a full restore the device's date and time is now set to the date and time of the backup set being restored. This prevents a possible situation that can delete backup sets from the expansion card when the date is reset.

- BackupMan will once again circumvent device security to run backups even if the device is "Off and Locked"
- Corrupt Backup sets will now show on the main screen in a different color to indicate they are not restorable
- Backup Sets created with v1.x will now show on the main screen in a different color to indicate they are not restorable
- Added icons to backups set names indicating if they were scheduled (part of the rotation) or if they are encrypted

- Fixed potential crash bug in Restore Individual Files, Backup Exclusions, and Backup After Running screens
- BackupMan will no longer crash when setting a schedule with the virtual graffiti area hidden
- Fixed a bug preventing auto-power off from working after automated backups
Important Information for users of BackupMan v1.x
Delete any previous installations of BackupMan on your device prior to installing v2. We strongly suggest using the built-in application launcher's delete facility.
Backup sets created with v1.x are NOT compatible with BackupMan v2.x.
BackupMan 2.x requires a new license and a new registration code.
