IVR & Voicemail call automation.
"To play the message, press 1.
To play all messages, press 11.
To delete the message, press 76.
To save and play next, press 3.
..."
Unless you memorize all the commands, you need to listen to this menu every time you call your voicemail. And another menu when you call your bank, And another one...
Why not let your Treo handle this for you ?
With 2dial, you can define a "profile" for every number of an IVR system you call.
You can have 2dial popup automatically when the IVR answers, and show you a screen of 12 buttons. You can assign each button to a command, and pre-program it with a name, an icon, and the digit sequence needed to execute the command.
This way - all you need to do is tap the button (or select it using the 5way navigator) to play, delete, save etc. As a side bonus, 2dial can also turn on SpeakerPhone when the call is answered.
Work for you - that's what your Treo should do. And it does with 2dial.
Note: The ZIP contains version 1.08 (030). The standalone PRC is the latest beta version for current users.
nova9: I may have bot this prog if it wasn't for that stupid nag in the middle of doing my stuff, it prevents me from really using it.
tomstack: App works great and don't drive with out it.
pmoreau: Took me a while to figure out how to remove the older version (1.05 (002)) before loading the newer one (1.06 (007)), but once I figured it out, it's not bad. I like this app and think I'll buy it. (Trick to removal: Go into the preferences and turn off 'Monitor calls').
Joad: Great idea - has possibilities. BUT - version 1.05 has a bunch of bugs that seem to be fixed yet the .prc isn't posted?!? Also, the program seems to operate strangely - you push on a button and it pulls up the config screen!
I'd LOVE to use this program to deal with my work voicemail. It's priced reasonably, too. But it seems too much like a "work in progress" to risk lockups with nag reminders and other beta stuff. Hopefully the developer will clean it up and release a working demo that is complete.
mario: Why the 30-day reminders every day? I get a pop up reminder in the middle of o phone conversation, rendering the whole application useless. WE GET IT! IT ONLY WORKS FOR 30 DAYS.
llestat: great idea but it won't start automatically when the number called connects.
rosenft: Brilliant idea for an app. Way to go Shimon!
Upgrading/Deleting 2dial
To be able to monitor calls and auto-activate profiles, 2dial is locked in memory, and thus can not be replaced or deleted. So if you want to update the application or delete it, you have to first go to "General preferences" and check the "Monitor calls" option OFF.
