There is nothing better than always being right. RIGHT? Especially in a group of people who are discussing…whatever.

So recently a group of us were figh- I mean "debating" over who played Fred Mertz in I Love Lucy. We actually couldn’t come up with any names. It was more like,
"Remember the guy from my three sons?"
"Wasn’t he in The Three Stooges?"
"I think he played the Cowardly Lion."

We could have easily strayed from our original point
right to another discussion:
"What do you think is the symbolism behind the characterization of The Cowardly Lion??"

Then someone said, "Why don’t you have Perry look it up in his little thingie?" (There are SO many funny descriptions for our PDA’s aren’t there?)

So I went to this wonderful app, Genius, on my "thingie", typed in Fred Mertz, hit GO, and the app came up with

Booyaa! A nice picture AND our answer.
(BTW…I’m the one who said he was in My Three Sons.
He played the grandfather when the show first started.)
End of discussion. (Plus we had to get back to work.)

You’ll find Genius can do more than this, too. The above was just a demo of how Genius can bring up quick and relevant info for your searches. Of course, as with any search engine, it helps if you’re good with your queries.

Genius will also look for translations.

Find comparison info for your shopping.

Do internal searches on your device.

Then take your info to Google Maps if you need to.

There are many ways to get the information you need. But in the time I’ve owned this app, it has proven to be one of the quickest, if not THE quickest way to find what I’m looking for. Genius has become one of my top ten applications. Try it out and you’ll find it will take its place on your favorite apps list.

I just had an mental image of looking up U2, and having Genius! be "the quickest way to find what I'm looking for," which was "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For..."

I think the program is wonderful as well, and I thank Perry for not reviewing it as yet another way to meet women in a bar, as seems to be a recurring theme on MTDN.

Just to avoid going mad, the answer is Williams Frawley. He also played the political advisor to the judge in the original "Miracle on 34th Street." I realize, by the way, that the answer can be seen in the screenshots on the right-hand side of this article, but if you're not one who looks closely, you might have missed it.

Dang typos. I mean William Frawley, not "Williams."
