Clip In Touch is a service being rolled out by carriers (and other content providers) that allows users to send greetings to multi-media enabled mobile phones for free. Simply design a greeting using your desktop or Treo / Centro browser and the Clip In Touch site, and send it to anyone or everyone you know via e-mail or MMS. Clip In Touch offers a database of professional images, videos and music that can be combined to create greetings, or you can upload your own multimedia files (such as photographs, songs or your own recordings).

We caught up with the company last month and received an in-person demonstration. They showed us how to create a greeting and what a resulting MMS looks like on a mobile phone. The service is a lot of fun for sending joke messages to friends or for sending well wishes to loved ones on holidays.

Available on a limited basis in Europe, we look forward to broader availability, including in the United States.

To use the basic features of Clip In Touch Lite™, users choose a category and then select one of the provided video clips that best express what they wish to say. They then have the option of personalizing the clip using additional images, voice recordings or text. Personalizing is simple to do with Clip in Touch's simple, guided step‐by‐step process.

The final clip is then ready to be sent to either another mobile device or to an email address.

Using the more advanced option – Clip In Touch Pro™, users can upload videos, images and audio clips from their own files or use their phone to record and save them. Users then edit their mix, being as creative as they like, through an attractive and intuitive application interface.

The final clip can be sent out, saved in a folder on their device or shared with a public user community.

Clip in Touch is available online and through all mobile devices using J2ME, BREW, Windows Mobile® and WAP clients. Phone users can choose a clip they have previously created and saved on the web and edit and send it from their mobile phone t single or multiple mobile phones or email address.

Commercially available through mobile operators and web content providers, Clip In Touch solutions are already delivering on the promise of personalized message solutions.
