Upon receiving the Seidio 1300 mAh High Capacity Battery for my Treo 680, I was immediately impressed with its quality. This is the first Seidio product that I have ever tried, and it did not disappoint! The 1300 mAh battery comes with a 6 month warranty and shows that the company stands firmly behind their products.

The Seidio battery is slightly thicker than the stock Palm battery. This thickness does not impair the original battery plate from fitting on the phone. Many batteries offer more power but a separate battery cover. While there is nothing wrong with that, my preference is to keep my Treo 680 at its original size. The battery also fits in the spare battery charger of my cradle, which is also very handy. I was initially unsure as to whether it would fit due to the added thickness, but it did!

After conditioning the battery by having it cycle for three or four days, I was ready to see just how well it stood up. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical due to the slight size difference from the original Palm battery. I did not think it could possible stay charged that much longer than the stock battery. The battery got only about 5-7% more use than my original Treo battery. I tested the phone with just the phone on: no data or Bluetooh. I repeated the test with my stock battery in order to be completely fair.

If you do not want to get a thicker battery because you do not want your Treo to be thicker but you are not completely unhappy with your Treo 680's battery performance, I would definitely think about picking up a Seidio 1300mAh High capacity Battery for your phone. This is a great solution for a spare battery at minimum power difference, without creating bulk.

Is anyone editing this at all? "Old news" hardly does this (in)justice! The 1600 has been out for at least a year now, and has become the standard for people using an extended battery. The 1300 is EVEN OLDER and was a stopgap for those of us waiting for the larger version, which also fits in the OEM case, so this is really an article about no news. What's going on?

This is not a news article, simply a product review.

Sometimes people tend to forget about perfectly good things just because they've been around for a while.

New might be fun, but ya can't beat old and stable.

Google price checks say $20 for OEM batteries and this thing goes for $34.

Gee, a battery that only gets you 5%-7% additional time and it costs 70% more than the OEM 1200 Mah battery, What a bargain!

No thanks, If I need a second battery, I'll go with the real thing or an ever cheaper aftermarket 1200Mah unit.
