Palm UK today announced the GSM Centro release in Europe on February 14th.

Whether you are an existing Palm Treo owner eager for a miniaturized version of your current device, or a newbie to the smartphone world ready for a GSM device that is sleek, inexpensive and provides superb e-mail, text message, camera, and web browsing features, this announcement may be for you.

It appears from Palm's UK website that the company is using the same slogans for the Centro in Europe as in the United States: "Your shortcut to happy hour" and "life begins at five o'clock." Such youthful references to bars and getting out of work reflect Palm's desire to attract a younger demographic.

There have recently been rumors about an impending AT&T Centro release in the United States as well. No carrier has been announced for the device in Europe.
