or According to the Boy Genius Report, Vodafone is getting ready to launch two new Palm smartphones. That's right, not one but two! One to replace the 755v, and one to replace the brand new 500v. Unfortunately, this does suggest that both will be on the Windows Mobile platform.
The first, code-named Palm Drucker (?!?!?) will come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and a tri-band UMTS/HSDPA radio. Currently, WinMob is at v 6.1, but hopefully it will be current when the device launches in July of 08. The Palm Drucker may also include a 320×320 screen, full QWERTY keyboard, a 1500mAh battery to handle the power, a 2 megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, and the usual Bluetooth 2.0. I know many people will be excited about the promise of built in WiFi. All this from Vodaphone for ₤270.
The second device, code-named Palm Wanda (who comes up with these things?!) looks an awful lot like the Centro. Unfortunately, another WinMob device, it will have only a tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE radio and (maybe?) UMTS/HSDPA. No mention of WiFi on this one, but it is the low level successor to the 500v and not the "professional" successor to the 755v.
All of this could go with other rumors hinted at in a recent mtdn/msmobiles Podcast.
Looks like this summer could be interesting in the UK!

Richl says:
In Gates keynote at CES an unknown palm phone was flashed on the screen. Of course... winmo.
Alli says:
You suppose that was "Wanda?"

Drucker is German for "Printer."
StrikerRJ says:
And those two WinMo phones (Wanda and Drucker) are how Palm will survive through 2008. As I expected, Windows Mobile will allow Palm to stay afloat in order to release PalmOS Linux in late 2008 or early 2009. Still, now that Google and its Android OS is already coming - earlier, with more money invested in R&D and way more devices from a number of manufacturers - I still have a few doubts if Palm will survive through those two next very difficult years...
