LogMeIn, Inc. is a company dedicated primarily to remote control of personal computers. Their suite of applications allow you to securely connect one personal computer to another, and then remotely perform functions on the target machine such as data backup, file sharing, system administration, and customer support. This is a great capability for travelers who want access to their home or office computer from their laptop, and also for IT administrators needing easy access to many machines in an organization.
Recently the company invested in the smartphone market, and we were curious to connect with them as a result. At the CTIA wireless industry convention in San Francisco, they had one of the largest display areas, where they showed off the ability to remotely control Windows Mobile smartphones using an Internet-connected laptop. Their demonstration of these capabilities on a Treo 700w was impressive.
According to the company, they have more than 20 million customers worldwide. They provide a free version of their application on their website. If you are interested in remotely controlling one or many computers or smartphones, give their applications a shot.

I'm with Gene: LogMeIn has been great for controlling a PC remotely. The feature that I'm looking for, however, is NOT the ability to control my Treo650 from my laptop but exactly the opposite -- I'd like the ability to access my laptop (remotely) from my Treo650.

PalmVNC will allow you to access your home PC via your 650. And it's free. Check out the downloads section.

Gee great, I can remote control a smartphone.
How about a product I could actually use, like being able to remote control a PC from my 755p? PalmVNC is a nice idea but it's restricted by firewalls et al. The nice thing about LogMeIn is that I can use it from anywhere to anywhere, without having to open ports first.

If you have Pocket PC/WM device, logmein has now the capability of controlling your PC with your WM mobile device. I have it setup on my HTC Mogul and can remotely connect to my PC. You need to install software to PC and your WM device. Link below.
