Ever in search of "the perfect case" I purchased the Prima Case for Treo 700 - Leather Smartphone Case - Flip Style Black with Clip. I was specifically interested in this case for its apparent ability to sit in the Palm cradle, which it does, although it took a couple of tries. It is, however, very easy to dislodge from the cradle with the case on.

I was immediately impressed with the snug, near-perfect fit on my phone and the soft smooth leather. The tight fit and height of the side, though, make it nearly impossible to remove the stylus without pushing the phone up out of the case about ¼".

The case has rigid supports along the top and sides of the screen. While these do add a little bulk, they ensure that the case will not interfere with the screen in any way. There is also nothing covering the ear piece. Other cases that I have tried that do cover the ear piece made it difficult to hear the caller at the other end.

Since I rarely use a belt clip, I also liked the fact that the belt clip nub has a very low profile, meaning it has less of a chance of getting caught on things as I slip it in or out of my purse or pocket. On the other hand, I personally could do without the metal Prima logo on the front of the case.

The magnetic snap has a nice click, letting you know that your Treo is safe. However, I have found that closing the snap while the device is "awake" has resulted in the case pressing keys, and in one case, actually dialing a number. In another instance it caused my device to hang, thus forcing me to pull it out and reset it. The headphone jack is accessible when the case is snapped closed.

The description says that the case has 2 SD card slots, however, mine has only one. This slot has an elastic band to hold the SD card(s) in. You can fit 2 cards under it, however in the brief time that I experimented with this, the elastic stretched out permanently. This made me concerned that eventually the elastic would give way entirely and I would lose one or both cards.

While the Prima Flip case is beautifully made, it unfortunately fell short of my expectations.

I really researched a lot and finally found the leather cases of Piel Frama from Spain fitting best with my TREO 650. Given they offer such a high quality I even bought a second one in another color.
