or Tim Carroll of Palm Infocenter reported that Palm quietly released an update to the Palm OS WebSphere Everyplace Java Micro Environment recently. Now at version 5.7.1, the update contains bug fixes and enhancements, and is designed for Treo 600, Treo 650, Treo 680 and Treo 700p smartphones (as well as T|X, Tungsten C, Tungsten T3, Tungsten E, Tungsten E2, Tungsten T5 and Zire 72 handhelds, and the LifeDrive mobile manager).
To install the update, you'll need at least 3.6 MB free memory on your device, and a Windows computer running 98/NT 4.0/2000/Me/XP or a Macintosh running OS X 10.x. Make sure to delete any previous versions of the JVM before installing this one.
