EarBuddy: the end to tangled headphones
I use my Treo as an MP3 player everyday. Unfortunately, I often find that my earbuds have tangled cords. Untangling the cords can be a big hassle costing me several minutes and tremendous aggravation. I am often concerned that I will damage the cords when attempting to untangle them. While my Etymotic earbuds shipped with a carrying case, I still have trouble with tangles no matter how much care I take when placing them in the case. While I like the automatic reel available on many of the Seidio headphones, my Etymotics do not have such a feature. EarBuddy to the rescue!
The EarBuddy by SendStation is a durable carrying case for earbuds. The EarBuddy has a very tough skin made of ballistic nylon. The inner reel of the EarBuddy is constructed of high density ABS plastic capable of withstanding up to 200lbs of pressure. The reel is segmented to keep the earbuds held tightly in place, avoiding tangles and damage. While designed for standard earbuds that rest against the ear, My Etymotic Er-6 in-ear earbuds fit very well into the EarBuddy. There was also room in the EarBuddy for the 3.5mm adapter. The adapter is needed for any headphones that have a standard 3.5mm plug because all Treo models have a 2.55mm audio jack.
I found the clamshell design of the EarBuddy very compact and easy to use. While the EarBuddy ships with a key ring, I found the case a little too big to keep on my keychain. I found, however, that the ring was a handy and convenient way to attach the earBuddy to my jeans, book bag or gym bag. The EarBuddy is available in both orange and black.

I worry about the size and weight of some bunches of keys. I have friends in the lock industry and they enjoy seeing large sets of keys dangling from ignition cars locks. They know that the extra weight will destroy that very complicated (and very expensive) lock system.
This is just another thing to add to the overload. I suggest we all check our key bundles and keep the car keys as car keys only.
I’m really looking for help using my 700p as an MP3 player–can anyone take pity on us not-as-tech-savvy types? When I download songs to pTunes, only one or two will appear with no explanation about the rest. Is it just that I don’t have adequate room in memory/SD card?
mkvlogan,
Have you checked within your sync software to make sure the pTunes conduit is not set to “save ??M of space on the card”?
